I admit I was intrigued the first time I saw the video, but after a lot of reading and a healthy dose of common sense, I realized this is one guy's pipe dream.

After all the years of research & development by Mazda and their engineering of the rotary engine, it would seem only logical that they would have applied that theory into practice by now.

Until ol' Ernie creates a working rotary engine (plenty of engines & machine applications available), that proves it is indeed a 'breakthrough', then it's still a pipe dream at best, and pure hucksterism at worst.

the phone number is given out in a lot of threads across the internet on auto-centric sites always claiming it's ernie, so it's at least the person who has claimed to be him repeatedly for years

What?

Do you have the millions for R+D? What about the assembly lines to produce the parts? or do you just have a welder?

Ernie, you still haven't commented on how you are going to address all of the other problems that exist with the 13b design, or how you are going to improve on the 16X or Sky-R instead of the 13b.

You do realize that you don't even know the pressure differential between the two cumbustion chambers that are BRIEFLY opened to each other via the spark plug hole right. For all you know, since compression hasn't really started, and the exhaust gasses are expanding into the exhaust port, the difference between Mazda's spark plug hole and yours might be negligible.

And as a Mazda tech you would also know that Mazda tried making rotary engines with Leading Deep Recess rotors and abandoned the design and went to Middle Deep Recess design. If it was so great then why did Mazda bail on it?

Also you sound crazy and your welding looks like dog ****, no way that rotor would actually work in a motor. Make it work then you would have something concrete to talk about.

He's not a troll, he's just a technician. They don't get paid to know the theory, they get paid to know how to make it work without having to explain it to anyone.

Of course, if there's not good theory behind something even the best technician will never get it to work.

Yeah, right.
A technician that can't spell 'compression'.

Troll.

Over and over again for years... I'll merge it with the thread when i find it, so you can read back about why it's complete and utter bunk.

Both of these ideas make complete sense. Next time I do a rebuild I'm gonna have someone weld up the plug holes and see if there is any difference in temp and power. If you lower the exhaust temps, you will increase the MPGs and the HP by the same amount of energy it took to heat the exhaust up. If he really lowered it by 600 degrees that is a lot of wasted gas/hp.
