Normally, WRX's (that I see) have diagonal exhaust tips, as well as Supra's, Silvias, R32's-34's, etc.

Funny how everyone calls it rice, I really don't think that car is rice at all, it's not like it's all plastered with useless crap, it looks clean and simple and more custom than rice to me, oh well, yet another example of how the term gets misunderstood and tossed around etc. I don't see why swapping fenders etc is rice, all it is to me is a more modern version of hot-rodding/street rodding/customizing. It's not like the guys that do that stuff are thinking " ooo, now everyone will think I have a BMW"... they're probably just following a trend or maybe they saw someone else do it so they did it etc.. Slamming a car isn't rice to me, hell they've been channeling cars since the 40's, some people like 'em low, doesn't make it rice, it really is a preference thing. I love to see trucks/cars/even choppers slammed, I think if it's done right it looks sick as anything. Of course some of this stuff is over the top or whatever, but why does that make it rice? I think I'd have to agree with some of the folks who posted before me in saying that rice=non-functional stuff like fake intercoolers, stickers, homemade wings etc.. Big difference between that and the Honda you have/had. I've even seen pics of body-dropped trucks laying rocker and people calling that rice, why? just because it's low? I know a few folks who drag door that are also running superchargers on fully modded motors and can give a lot of cars a run for the money, does that make them rice too? I guess it is to some folks, but it all seems very inconsistent. I wonder if all those guys from back in the day that would take a 30's ford and slap a huge chevy motor in it had to deal with people calling them "rice" or whatver?

canaryrx8,
we see TOTALLY eye to eye
my civic was really custom

my goal was to create a unique and different ride
I wanted to turn heads and get attention and not look like other civics
it was a hobby and I did the same with my rx8

blueeyes,
my civic was super slow
I call it rice because it was almost all show and no go

I had intake and exhaust

That's alright, if it was a show car it doesn't need to go. You have any interior shots, looks pretty nice in there

I'm guessing it probably was pretty unique for a while, then the "tuner bandwagon" came to town and screwed everything up lol I've customized everything I've ever driven, guess that makes the rice king! lol

Oh God, not another ricers/what-is-rice thread. What's next, a discussion on gas mileage or how to get the latest flash?

I was fipping through the channel's and turned to the G4 channel to watch this tuner show called "Street Fury" or something like that.

If you wanna see rice try and catch that show. You may have to mute it because the people on there are so damn stupid it makes you want to bash your head into the wall... I managed to watch about 5-6 minutes before having seazures from all the flashing neon lights and dumbass paint jobs.

I would define "rice" as any car haphazardly modified, either cosmetic or mechanical.

I wouldn't say something is "rice" just because it's a Civic or a Sentra, etc... The car's owner may not be able to afford more and is simply making due with what they have.
