OH, BTW Yes the New 6 IS YET another example of a car maker who is and will continue to hit the "Sweet Spot" when it come to car design and "DRIVERS CARS".

IMO Mazda are now the BMW and Mercedes Benz of Japan!

BTW, GO AUTO (website above) says the New Mazda 2 due for release here in 10 days is a "Brilliant" small car. There is a 4 door Model that they say are heading to the US!

Not even close on that last prediction, sources from Mazda both Japan and US state the exact opposite, and a turbocharged RX-8 ain't happening, trust me.

I don't know, I'm not that thrilled with it. It looks like a Sebring and IS got together.

This car is beautiful for a mid-size sedan. Love it really.

The guys over at the Lexus forum really think it looks good too, so that means we're not biased. I really liked the design of the current Mazda6 and this is just a HUGE evolution.

I think Mazda will sell loads of these if they price it right. Younger buyers will definitely prefer the styling of this over the Camry, Accord, or Malibu.

If the folks at corporate headquarters in Irvine are reading this, you guys deserve a good pat on the back. You did us Mazda enthusiasts proud. Great job.

Hm.. i dont mind the exterior but the interior looks like too much plastic. I agree with what some members have said, very lexus like, on the outside that is.

Everything looks good except the rear... Can you say, Chrysler Sebring?

Yeah...Some of you guys beat me to it in pointing out the Sebring resemblance. As soon as I saw the rear end, I muttered, "Oh noooe! Not a Sebring clone!"

Upon closer inspection, the 6 seems to have a slightly more attractive rear end than the Sebring. That's all I can say.

nah, it's a big difference comparing with the sebring. look at the shape of how the trunk flows with the rear bumper and the rear fenders

To me, it just looks like another cookie cutter sedan. Not bad, but nothing special either.

IMO, the resemblance to the sebring rear end is pure coincidence. I don't think Mazda would even consider looking at the sebring for design inspiration. The 3qtr rear view reminds me of the 3, especially looking at the top edge of the trunk lid and the way it flows with the rear fenders. The greenhouse reminds me of the Mondeo, for obvious reasons. A little bit of Nagare influence on the head and tail lamp styling and our beloved 8 bulging fender. The design flows harmoniously and is tasteful overall.

There is no coincidence because there is no resemblance in the rear ends. The three or so people who think so are wacked in the brain and/or eyes. That is some of the blindest random stuff I've seen so far on this forum.

I bet a a body colored "sport grille" similar to one offered in current 6's would make the new one that much better!

Riiight!

If either car was passing by and I happened to spot only the back side/rear end out of the corner of my eye, I'd have to do a double take to see what kind of car it was. "Is it a Sebring or a 6?" If I had to do that, that's too close for comfort.

It doesn't have to be exactly identical, down to the lines and shapes of the rear bumper or quarter panels. If it did, that would be even more retarded.

Anyway, I stand by what I said. The minute I saw the rear end of the Euro-spec 6, I was instantly reminded of the Sebring. That's my opinion (and other two members') and we're entitled to it. I don't have to be a blind fanboy like you are.

On Closer inspection I noticed that the New 6 Sedan rear view is very much an over-sized Mazda 3 sedan look.

Also, Mazda have retained the dual exhausts.

You 2 are hilarious. IF the new Mazda 6 were already out, then I guess you might be able to make that statement! Let me just say this: WHEN it comes out and you actually see one in person, you will finally understand your erroneous notion. There is no chance you will confuse the two cars even from several hundred feet behind. But even right now, with just pictures, anyone can easily see that the two rear ends are different in every single detail except for one: the general shape of the tail lights. That general shape is also seen in cars ranging from the Corolla to Lexus ES.

You can stand by what you say and you can remain wrong and you can realize it soon enough. And you WILL realize it.

there needs to be a letter writing campaign to keep MNAO from selling a bloated fat pig version of this car...

Huh??

First, you said, "IF the new Mazda 6 were already out, then I guess you might be able to make that statement!" Then you went on to say, "WHEN it comes out and you actually see one in person, you will finally understand your erroneous notion." Your reading comprehesion is dismal. Reread what I wrote. Let me give you a hint: I wrote my first sentence in my last post in a past/conditional tense. If that's too hard for you to grasp, you need to go back to 5th grade.

All you can see is what I can see (the pictures in this thread). Yet you can readily dismiss my opinion now and predict what I am gonna think in the future. You're a real genius, Mr. Sherlock Holmes. What exactly makes you so superior?

And guess what? I was just giving my opinion. When did an opinion need to be an absolute, right or wrong? Opinions are like @ssholes, you know; everyone has one. So it's rather comical to say my @sshole--uh, opinion-- is wrong and your *******--opinion, I mean-- is right.

Mazda executives responsible would once again demonstrate their utter stupidity. You got a good looking, powerful, 4 door, etc.... you go with that. It will save you money to produce the same car everywhere and the prettier version is sure to be a hit.

This whole "Americanization" bullsh*t is also fueled by some Japanese Mazda executives smoking crack. A good looking and good performing car will sell anywhere. You don't "Americanize" the exterior into something ugly, you upgrade the engine to something more powerful for American longer and straighter roads.

The sebring, like almost every car chrystler makes save for a few, is butt ugly from every angle. I think some people need glasses. Like someone said above, any possible resemblance is just pure coincidence. Chrystler is the last company anyone should want to take design cues from.
