Your ignorance makes you look a bit foolish. I was trying to state why would they even compare that to an 8? If the 8 had the same specs in the Rotary Engine and Suspension, it would smoke the pipes off that car.

How was I ignorant? How do you know an RX-8 with the same specs as an Evolution 8 would smoke it? There isn't one out there to prove it. My point is anyone can make up a car and say it will beat something else, but there isn't that car to prove it. Why would they compare it to the RX-8? Because the RX-8 is considered an excellent handling car. If you had the same power to weight ratio on an RX-8 and an Evolution 8 which do you think would be faster around a track? They are both great handling cars, but the Evolution definitely has a suspension geared towards racing which it has proven itself on the track, so I would give the Evo 8 the nod anyways.

Cas you look foolish with your statements if anything. You make it sound so simple with your nonexistent car... Just give the RX-8 more HP and give it as good a suspension as the Evo. Well Subaru has been trying to do that for years and they almost always come up a little short. The Evo is a special car, it's not just a bunch of HP, a stiff suspension, and AWD. If it were that easy every car manufacturer in the world would have a car like the Evo. The Evo is really in a class by itself when it comes to being a drivers car for the money. The STi comes close but only one version of the STi tops the Evos and it's not available in the US.

Ike, just curious; What made you go for the WRX instead of the EVO?

There are two problems with the Evo MR.

1) The reason the car is so fast, is the drivetrain is trying to desperately escape the body. Unfortunantly for the drivetrain, the body seems bolted on .

2) Mitsubishi and all their current woes and "omg, wtf, lol! You went over 65! WARRANTY VOIDED!!" bs.

Other then that its pretty much the fastest production car you can buy under 100k that isn't a kit car.

At the time I needed to purchase a new car the Evo could not be had for less than MSRP and most dealers were charging a premium over MSRP. The special financing was not available on the Evo either, so over the life of the financing I would have paid at the very least 12k more for an Evo than I did my WRX.

I find the EVo and WRx look like ugly econo boxes with a bunch of spoilers and big *** wings tacked on to appeal to the little bit of rice in people. They go like stink but look like a factory version of your basic everyday "ricer". The interiors look and feel really cheap......Maybe if I was younger, none of that would bother me so long as I could get from light to light faster than the next guy, but I'm looking for so much more than that now....that's why I bought the 8.

So do you still think you saved money considering that you could of just bought what you wanted to begin with?

I'm paying less per month for my Evo than I was my WRX. Now go bump the old RX-8 vs. STi flamefest, hell just bump all these https://www.rx8club.com/search.php?searchid=1223972
