Its hard not to like this car. As a kid (before i even knew of imports) the 69 Camaro SS was my fav car. I had posters of it in my room, you know the one, with the blue paint job and white racing stripes. Even though i love imports this car just screams hotness. It will slaughter the challenger both in looks and sales. Saw a Challenger the other day parked at the gym and i wasnt impressed.

Just read about that 5.0L 2010 Mustang... they're saying 400hp out of that thing, but not as much torque. Sucker is gonna be pretty fast, but I will predict right now, the Camaro will be faster in all the magazine comparison tests.

I am pretty impressed with this. Love all the gauges and design of the inside. I think if you're looking for futuristic muscle, go with the camaro, performance, go with the camaro. But if you want more classic style, the Challenger is for you.

I don't care for the interior but I think overall, it is decent. I will be curious to see how the market takes to it especially after a year or two. That and I will be curious if GM keeps spending money on it with their current cash crunch and knee jerk reaction to decide to build small cars now that gas is over $4 per gallon.
I have not read anything officially on how the Challenger is selling other than the 6400 units that were allocated but there is no problem finding an 08 in the Philadelphia area. That and I was in Carlisle PA at one of the largest Chrysler shows on the east coast and there were plenty from dealers. Average asking price was $55k and most people walking by looked but didn't seem impressed.

I'm jealous. I'd like to see one in person. That's cool.

The difficulty involved in changing the sparkplugs "under" the firewall on an LT1 Z28 was legendary. I pray it's not that way on the new one, but from the illustration, it doesn't look like it would be too bad. That would SUCK. Does anybody have any "real" under-hood pics? I haven't seen any yet.

I'd hold out until the release the SS verision which wont probablly be for 3 years i'm guessing since the vert isnt suppose to go into production until 2011. If they were in production full force right now i'd probablly get one instead of the RX8 i'm trying to buy. I'd still rather just buy a classic 68 and restore it tho. Still a sexy car, i just hope theres not so many of em that its like the mustangs all over the road right now.

Also, just because it's branded a 2010 model doesn't mean it will be 2010 before it's sold. They will launch in early 2009.

Love the car , looks like they kept it pretty close to the concept . Im confused, so the RS, LS are V6 variants? And the 416HP V8, is that what the SS is getting, or can you get a RS and LS trim with a 416HP motor in it as well?
Or is the SS getting a new performance V8 in it all together?
