In that price range, it will no doubt be compared to the M5, regardless whether Porsche claims it to be aimed at the M5 or not. Hell, I don't think that being compared to an M5 could be bad in any case. That's a freakin' awesome car! If Porsche does produce this car you can believe that it will be worthy of that comparison.

I am sure it will be compared to the M5, the CLS55, Sl55 all those cars. The point of these cars is not value however. Sure an M5 may perform better, but there are other subjective matters which would lead one to buy the Porsche, that's all I was getting at.
What's the point of a 911 Turbo, or a 360 if a Z06 will keep up? Whats the point of an rx-8 if an SRT-4 will keep up. Cars are generally not a rational purchases.

Agree - poor man's porche. If I had the dough I'd be driving a 911. Don't get me wrong - I am thrilled that Mazda has developed a car that drives as well as it does, looks as great as it does, and costs as little as it does. Otherwise I'd still be driving a Ford POS.
