I'm not even gonna argue the ugly car thing since you're the only one seemingly fixated on that, although I'm totally OK with you thinking an Evo is ugly. That's life. However this whole thing about Brembo brakes, turbochargers, AWD and "McPherson" struts being tantamount to cheating may just win you the fanboi of the year award. Last time I've heard somebody as passionate about that as you I was browsing an RSX forum full of teenagers pissed off that they were getting pulled on by Cobalts, Ions and SRT-4's. It's really pathetic and it doesn't even make sense. For one, McPherson is not a brand. Rather it's a type of strut configuration that got popular in the 80's when more and more lightweight FWD cars from Japan were hitting the roads. Sorta like "Tommy John surgery" or "Murphy's Law". Try to wrap your college educated brain around that before spouting off more nonsense.

This idea that turbochargers, aftermarket brakes, stiffer suspension and AWD are somehow a disingenuous means to an end is the battle cry of the jealous and/or ignorant. There's a saying: run what you brung and STFU. You need to put that in your signature and think about exactly what it means before you start mindlessly tapping away again on that keyboard.

You also have equated turbochargers and big brakes with cheating, but what about a rotary engine? That's definately a novelty item - although I'm sure in your peanut mind there's a perfectly good justification for that being taken off the list. Although, outside of the RX-8, I know of no other production car even being made with a rotary engine.

Secondly, we've got a couple guys in here with aftermarket turbo chargers on their RX-8. That's quite a predicament for you. What do you have to say to them? Are they cheating too, or are they just oportunists because they drive the same car as you - albeit modified. And what about the Mazdaspeed RX-8...is that cheating too? And what about weight lifting in the NFL, or boob jobs in ****, or mouth gaurds in boxing, or diapers on babies? Those are all apparently forms of "cheating" by your impossible definition of "fair".
You need to look in the mirror buddy. I've bought up numerous points about things that you cant or wont even answer. Now you want to talk about childish. Be a MAN and live up to the facts. Face things instead of running around them! I never once said it was cheating, but more of an advantage over others. And I don't appreciate you putting words in my mouth. Your attempt on analogies didn't work too well. They don't make much sense, especially towards what your "trying" to compare them to. My "Impossible" definition of fair? You think its fair to compare an EVO and STi vs an RX8, S2000, 350Z or G35? Your comparing sports cars to Rally Cars(In my eyes). Fair would be giving all the others the same performance enhancements that they have. Then people like you have the audacity to say the RX8 is slow. ****, for what the RX8 has in it, its does very well. It doesnt need the extra help to get good numbers. Face the facts! Put it like this, I wouldn't be too proud of my EVO or STi(if I owned one) if I were to beat an RX8, 350Z, G35, S2000 or anything in that category! As a matter of fact, its kinda sad that people actually do that..............................

I still don't understand why you think because one car has a name brand brake, it automatically preforms better than another brake package and is an advantage. It doesn't make any sense, and you have no proof of this. It's just your brand identification kicking in, I guess their marketing worked pretty well.

What facts will I not face and what things will I not answer? Is it about the Evo being ugly? You want to have a pointless argument in hopes you'll find some common ground with other RX-8 owners. Not only will that be a complete waste of everyone's time, but it's been done a thousand times before in a thousand other threads. We'd be better off talking something else totally subjective like politics or religion. Maybe we could argue evolution or debate the chicken and the egg. No no I got it...let's do nature vs. nurture. Were you born a boob or did you evolve into one?

I'm also gonna assume by your overall defensive tone and skipping over of my turbocharged RX-8 question that you've realized the insanity of your "extra help" and unfair "advantages" argument. You're also giving the Evo/STi too much credit if you think that Subaru and Mitsubishi are selling rally cars to the public. They do fine in the snow, but that Jamaican country side would absolutely devour the suspension of any street legal STi or Evo. They are "rally bred", whatever that means. To me it basically means AWD, an "Evolution" or "STi" badge on the back of the car, and a turbocharger. It's a marketing ploy in as much as the RX-8 is a "LeMans bred" version of the 787B. But make no mistake, both the STi and Evo are built for the tarmac just like your car and 99% of everything else sold nowadays...save for a Hummer or something like that...so comparing track times is apples to apples, not apples to oranges like you're desperately and pathetically trying to convince us all.

Speaking of putting words in your mouth, where exactly was it that I said the RX-8 was slow. No need for excuses or backpedaling...Just paste the quote where I said it.

Another fine piece of rx8club.com history right here. I firmly believe that this forum has to hold the record for the number of locked threads. One last post before the lock.

First thing I thought of after reading the last four pages was, "My Mazda RX8 tires really stick to road!" Every piece used in the auto industry are stock parts from some company. You could make the argument that kit cars are stock, and they can be made with many different arrangements of stock pieces.

One could also argue that if you have put a new set of tires on your car, even if they are the exact same brand and type, that your car is no longer stock.

I own an 8:

I like the EVO 8's looks in person
I like the WRX's looks in person but not the STI's wing
I will get smoked by all three of the above cars

Is the 8 built to do the same things as the others, not at all. I wanted an easier ride on the every day roads while stilling getting good performance numbers so I got the 8.
