The #2 running Lola hit Mazda and went flying off the track!!! The Lola is toast! Out of the race. Audi is back in 1st and 2nd. Mazda is still fine. Full course yellow.

Damn it! They are having a problem with the satellite connection right now. I can't see any in car views. I can only see a view from one location on the track. Hopefully they'll get it fixed soon.

Mazda is currently running 4th in class but will fall to 5th within the next half hour or so. There are only 5 currently running cars in that class. 6th place had an engine failure.
I reported that Porsche had transmissions problems. An update has revealed that to be wrong. One car had a throttle sticking issue and the other had a fuel leak. They are both fixed and running now and climbing back up in position.

Well Mazda has lost all of it's class positions as Porsche passed them. Now it's up to reliability (or lack of it) or a possible wreck from someone.

It's neat to be able to see and hear in car footage of Porsche at the same time as Audi. 2 very different engines and powerbands. The Porsche is loud, high revving, and just screams through the gear shifts. The Audi diesel is a low growl that is quieter and it seems like it never shifts. It does, just not as often and the rpm change isn't as great.

The #7 Porshe RS Spyder has been black flagged with a stop and go penalty for playing a little too rough. He had an avoidable contact with a GT2 Porsche 911.

I'm watching this on TV now, RG
I don't know anything about Petit LeMans yet, but this looks like a good chance to learn.
I'm going to google the classes to see what the differences are.

Ok I can't find any results for differences between the classes, but maybe someone will be nice enough to explain? I'm going back to watch a bit more of the race.

I've just noticed one thing that kidna always bothered me somewhat..
How come some of these teams pit stops take so DAMN LONG!? I understand for a long endurance race you wish to make sure everything is fine but at times when they have the 2 1/2 hour race's or even the 6 hour ones the pit crew seems to be made of amatures. Maybe I'm spoiled or jaded from seeing 14 second pitstops in nascar but at times they just seem to long to just change a set of tires and fill up gas. Though Driver changes like I'm seeing now to me are/should take awhile dont want a driver heading out with all belts not buckled in.
Might have to save money and make a special trip to Road America, watching this race is making me like this track. Just wish it had more S corners hehe.

Gt1 and Gt2 are definatly Hp based
Other series have different spec's for seperating the classes from having your car be completly stocked(to a degree lol) to completely modified.

LMP1, LMP2, GT1, GT2
LMP1 and 2 are also just referred to as P1 and P2 for short.
LMP1 and LMP2 are known as the "prototypes". GT class cars are based on street cars. Some more than others as some are full bube frame and others aren't. It'll take a while to explain.
