Opinions Needed: Amazing Deal on New Mazda6

To those that still want to compare it to an 8. Do you compare S2000s and Accord sedans as well? I haven't ever heard anyone say "man that Accord is pretty nice, but it sure as hell can't accelerate, brake or handle like the S2000". Of course a comparison to the 8 is almost obligatory on RX8Club, despite what it is.
Otherwise why would you see so many RX-8 vs. <whatever car> threads?
Folks here are just informing the OP to be prepared for a sudden drop-off in driving experience if/when he trades in his rx-8 for a mazda6.

b/c of the economy, I'm going to pass and see what happens.
I'm very leery of the economic conditions right now, and happen to think things will get considerably worse.
I like my 8, and really, we can get by with one true sedan for now.
The thing that really killed this deal is the taxes and transfer fees. I would have paid my state $1,540 in taxes and fees, because taxes are paid on the full pre-rebate amount, and then when I sold my car, there'd be transfer fees and taxes due on that transaction, also.
I hope I'm wrong about the economy getting much worse, but I have a habit of being right about these things. The unemployment rate shows no signs of slowing its upward ascent.

The 8 year/100,000 mile motor warranty makes this prospect easier.
One thing I'm finding after test driving a lot of newer cars - many midsize cars feel cheaper than the older generation same models did.
The Passat, Camry and Accord all feel more cheaply made to me.
The Passat did not have the solid feeling I've come to expect from that car. The front end was disturbingly light and cheap feeling. The Camry had a very cheap interior. The Accord's steering is not what it used to be.
The more cars I test drive, the more I appreciate the steering feel, solidity and driving posture of the 8 - it will be a classic in 2016 for those of us who garage them and keep them clean.
