Considering his 10 wins and never finishing below 3rd (starting from the back), the only reason Lewis isn't absolutely dominating this season is the 3 DNFs that were not his fault.

It's kind of funny watching Rosberg crack under the pressure as Lewis has in previous years while Lewis seems to have grown up.

 

Wait 'till Lewis' car magically stops working at the double point GP and a german driver in a german car magically wins the championship...

Back when they drove cars:

 

Nelson Piquet's interview with Hamilton was just plain creepy. Hamilton had to be called back to the podium for "real questions" and you can see the pause from Nelson between the two questions as he is clearly getting the questions fed to him. You know the producers were yelling in his ear to get Hamilton back after he had left.

It was pretty clear that all Piquet was interested in was talking to Massa in front of the home town crowd.

IMHO, pumping up the crowd and helping Massa enjoy his moment was a much better deal than yet another Rosberg-Hamilton interview.

Screw Hamilton. What an uneventful championship on crappy cars.

 

I was nice to see Massa make a run of it at the end.

 

Looking forward to next season. I hope Williams continues their upswing and Massa has a shot at the championship.

Well done Hamilton.

However, Ricciardo did really well and the one to watch next year provided Redbull improve on the car.

 

Fantastic job by Mercedes. Great job by Nico and spectacular performance by Lewis, who is clearly one of the most gifted drivers ever.

I'm not a fan of the V6 engines and attempting to have a 'green' F1 but thank God it was still an exciting season, despite Mercedes' dominance.

Can't wait to see if Ferrari have anything up their sleeves or what improvements Williams can make. Will McLaren Honda and Alonso turn the tables? Ricciardo in the right car is truly one to watch for an eventual World Championship.

It was a fun year but, BRING BACK ENGINES THAT SCREAM by 2016!

Those who are moaning over Mercedes dominance, what about RedBull having the best cars for years and being untouchable. I for one do not wish for RedBull to have the best car again. Let Mercedes or Ferrari or someone else have a good run, but heaven no, not RedBull. If you had put Lewis Hamilton in the best car each of the past few years, he would have had many more championships. He has clearly developed into the best driver, mentally as well as physically. He is young enough to have much more success if he can stay healthy in such a dangerous sport. And expect Nico to be there too.

 

Looking back over history, it seems to be the general rule that one team will dominate, even if not easily. There are exceptions of course, but it doesn't appear to be all that common for there to be more than 1-2 drivers with a serious shot at the title in any given season.

 

I must admit it is nice to watch Vettel get his *** handed to him this whole season. I am still of the belief that whatever technology his car had to win all those races was not shared with Webber, and without that advantage, he's just not that great.

 

Looks like this season Red Bull mixed the cars up, and gave Vettel Weber's car.

I hope the technology gets evened out and there are several strong teams next season. There was a lot of good wheel-to-wheel racing this year, but other than the Hamilton-Rosberg battles it was back in the pack. It's a lot more fun watching Alonso's bonzai moves when they're for the lead rather than just to get into the points.

I'd like to see both Red Bull and Williams close the gap to Mercedes. I don't know that it would be realistic to hope for more teams than that, but even a 4-driver fight for the top would be much better.

I found myself pulling for Williams regularly, and I'd like that to also be for wins, not just positions. Then again, I was pulling for Force India and Marussia regularly too, even at the back of the pack.

I haven't been able to care any for Caterham, Lotus, Sauber, or Toro Rosso. Even Ferrari is mostly a "meh". Talking teams here, not drivers. The way those teams are handled and present themselves just doesn't do anything for me.

I feel like Ferrari thinks they are entitled to be competitive, and this year, they were not even close.
Maybe they can pick it up next year, but meh, I just can't get behind them.

 

Yeah, agreed with this. How they handled the team management this year because of their poor showing is rather disgusting. The smaller/slower teams seemed to be far more open, friendly, and hopeful. Ferrari just started sacking people that may not even have been able to make a difference in face of the F1 rules once the speed disparity was discovered. It's an arrogant high handed way of dealing with the problem. Dare I say it? Very Italian

I'm worried about Haas F1's chances. They contracted for a bunch of Ferrari technology.

Mercedes will not sign off on allowing wholesale engine and chassis changes for next year across F1 (It had to be a unanimous vote of all manufactures and Mercedes didn't want to give away all its advantage in technology) , so there may be incremental improvements for the other cars but expect Mercedes to still be one of the strongest teams. Red Bull and others wanted to be able to basically steal Mercedes better tech and put it on their cars as well. REd Bull has a short memory because they had vetoed anyone getting their tech for all those years they dominated and made F1 most boring. I say if Red Bull got four years of dominance then it is someone else's turn. As we all know there are five or six top drivers that are the mostly likely to win given equal equipment. But it really makes the bigger difference having the best car, that is what, and a little good fortune along the way will determine who will be champion.

I have covered all forms of motorsports including F1 as a photojournalist for decades. I personally am very close to the Andretti family, having been in their lives for many years, covering them on the track and behind the scenes as the chief motorsport photographer for their biggest Pennsylvania hometown area newspaper, the Philadelphia Inquirer. Great family and they have welcomed me in to their extended family and homes on many occasions. Mario has acknowledged to me that he would have probably never gotten over the hump in his F1 career and won his championship if they had not had the dominant car the year he won, and the tragedy that took his great teammate and championship rival Ronnie Peterson. . Michael's own troubles in F1 (only one podium finish in his short F1 career) he feels were not only due to his lack of F1 experience, but having inferior rides. As a super successful, multiple championships team owner in Indycar, Michael knows how crucial having the best equipment is along with top driving.
