BSE, I don't see anything on that COTA map resembling any 180 or 190 mph turns. Call me pessimistic, but that's no Spa; we'll see what speeds the cars carry through the turns soon enough, though.

Uhm... turns 1-6 look kinda fast on paper. 7-8-9 may be interesting given the elevation changes.

Not all the fast corners are interesting. I often attend spa track days and the most challenging turn is Bruxelles because of its negative camber and how easy it is to mess the line up. Stavelot is pretty entertaining as well while blanchimont is basically a straight if you have the guts. The bus stop is extremely hard to get right as well, most people start too close to the apex and waste 15km\h or so doing so.

Hamilton backs Alonso for title
Lewis Hamilton says Fernando Alonso deserves to win the 2012 championship after ruling out his own chances.
....

"I feel like Fernando has deserved it throughout the year," Hamilton said. "His team haven't made one mistake. He hasn't always been the fastest but he has been up there. He has driven like the champion he is all year and I feel as though he is a three-time world champion. Red Bull have been more up and down but they have still done a great job. They have won the last three races."

Wolff completes first F1 laps with Williams - GPUpdate.net

So a test driver does simulator work nowadays without having driven a f1 car before, EVER?
**** poor teams, bring testing back!
Also, ban females from the sport as well. Slower reaction times, probably not strong enough to do a full race at 100% etc.
Women = Ironing. Men= driving.

You keep me laughing, but seriously, the formula 1 cockpit is no place for girls. No offense to those fine people of the fairer sex.

Thanks Al.

I may have said it in a funny way but it's true. Females have slower reaction times and a body that's not suited for that prolonged kind of effort against a bunch of males (unless you're a pornstar of course).
They wouldn't be competitive enough so it would be an unfair competition.
Of course saying it the other way is better.

Wolff hopes test opens door for female drivers
She also revealed that she had been in touch with Maria de Villota, Marussia's ex-test driver who lost an eye during a straight-line test earlier this year, ahead of her test.

"I spoke with her after her press conference, because in her press conference she showed everybody that aside from being a great racing driver she is an exceptional lady. The strength and dignity she showed after such an accident and to fight back from being on the brink nearly dying, was quite phenomenal and I said that to her. She wrote back saying: 'You know my friend, it's up to you now to show that we can do it and you're driving for both of us'

Wolff hails
This article shows why that girl is driving an f1 car.
Who can I marry to get the same privileges? I could accept a loose butt for an f1 run.

A Real Formula One Car Is For Sale On Sweden’s Craigslist
Blocket.se is like Sweden's version of Craigslist. Right now you can go to the site and buy a real 2006 BMW-Sauber F1 car as easily as a twice-rebuilt Ikea bed.

Well, the BMW is a bit more expensive, to the tune of 9,000,000 Swedish krona. That's about $1.37 million dollars.

"like sweden's version of craigslist".
Yeah, because the monkey that wrote that article for jalopnik didn't know the proper term classified ads...

Andretti christens Circuit of the Americas
The 1978 world champion Mario Andretti, the last American to win the championship, cut a chequered banner before taking to the Circuit of the Americas track in his championship-winning Lotus 79 as celebrities and local dignitaries attended the Texas circuit's 'First Lap Ceremony.'

"It's everything I expected and more," Andretti said. "The track is phenomenal. It has all the features that you are looking for, giving you the opportunity to overtake, while negotiating some tighter corners. You can tell that a lot of thought has gone into it."

It is interesting since it can be interpreted a few different ways with more than one being possible simultaneously. He seems to be suggesting that Vettel is not necessarily his match and the full threat he is dealing with, as well as perhaps insinuating that his team may be lacking the engineering talent of Newey. It surely is praise for the abilities that Newey brings to the table.

Paul.

It is the only attack he can fence at Vettel since his car is slower and an insult to ferrari\compliment to Newey. That's how I read it.

I would have just said "hey ******** fingerboy, show me you got some ***** and let's swap cars for the rest of the season.

There would have gone my FIA license.

I really wish Weber would step up and be a team mate. I guess it is too much to ask. He falls too far behind Vettel (because Newey) and gets eaten up by the Ferrari and McLaren boys.

I understand he had Kers isues for the last several laps, that could have been a moot point if he could build a lead like his team mate.

Great drive by Alonso (in a non Newey car) catching and passing the McLarens then chasing down the Newey car in his non Newey car to take 2nd from Mark and keep a closer gap to Vettel in the WDC.

Mark needs to stop this entire #2 driver self hate and accept it. I like the guy, but, he really has to realize that his team mate is blistering fast.

Mark pondering my post:
