Just finished the race on Fox. Congratulations to those that finished. They avoided the demolition derby out there.
Something I noticed. On the pace/grid lap, Alonso and Schumacher were giving each other thumbs up. Later, mid race, Schumacher was leading a mid-pack group. Alonso was behind him. Alonso got by easily. Schumacher held up the rest of the pack. On the podium we see, "Schumi and Nando with their hands up ".
Once a Ferrari driver, always a Ferrari driver.

Following various incidents during the European GP at Valencia, the stewards have decided to penalise Vergne and Maldonado. At the same time, Michael Schumacher who has used DRS during a yellow flag situation is not penalised and can keep his third place finish.

I don't why you would say that. It looked to me that it was Hamilton's fault.

Engine supplier Renault Sport has apologised to Red Bull and Lotus after alternator problems stripped both teams' drivers of an opportunity to win the European Grand Prix. Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel was leading with ease when a safety car came out and soon after he retired when his alternator overheated and the engine shut down. Grosjean's alternator failed for a different reason but it had the same effect as a lack of fuel pressure brought his car to a halt.

Whitmarsh reckons Hamilton could have been more cautious against Maldonado
McLaren boss Martin Whitmarsh believes Lewis Hamilton should have been more cautious in handling his battle with Pastor Maldonado in the closing stages of the European Grand Prix.
Hamilton crashed out of the Valencia event after a clash with the Venezuelan driver as they battled for third on the penultimate lap - losing him vital points in the world championship standings.

Why should there be a penalty? He had the right to fight for position, he wasn't weaving, he didn't went OFF THE TRACK and T-bone another car. Honestly, I'm surprised he got away with only a 20s penalty. Schumacher got a 5 place penalty for just that slight bump with senna couple races ago.
A hot headed driver like him really deserves at least a race ban or 2, if not his super license revoked. Spa last year and Monaco this year, ring any bells?
3 out of 3, he had gotten off lightly.
Had not been the 40 million bullshit he brought into the franchise, I'm sure someone would've said something.

Spa last year was Hamilton's fault as well.
This year it was just 2 hot heads giving a rub.
It's not like Maldonato hit Hammy intentionally either this time. It's not that easy to steer in a formula car.

In terms of the technical aspects, Hamilton did nothing wrong. He drove just like Schumacher or Senna would have. He does not give up position without a proper fight. Maldanado needs more experience to know when to attack. It's an art, a crafty, crafty art
. Wisdom would suggest (More hindsight actually) that Hamilton would have gained precious championship points if he just moved over like a wuss but that is not the fighter that he is.
