The implications of the level of money involved with the Bahrain F1 race are huge. The government may take action with that being one of the bigger influences; losing your royalty and palace probably trump that though .

Its a horrible track no passing worse than every other track. But like you guys say the money is to big. I went to the Malaysian GP last year and also Spa. ten times the track of Sakhir. Get rid of this GP and go back to France. Berny needs to get out!

It's not that expensive anyway.
Open pit or 6 20min sessions = 300 or so €.
Car rental (Driving from the states...) from 400 to 1200€ depending on what you wanna drive. 360 challenge?

Formula One: Ecclestone’s comments on Bahrain could cause backlash

Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone on Friday might have triggered a public-relations disaster both for himself and for the sport in general after he brushed off concerns about the situation in Bahrain--which is supposed to host F1’s season opener on March 13.
Ecclestone’s interview on Friday with BBC Radio’s Dan Roan--who at times seemed to barely believe what he was hearing--does not paint him in a good light at a time when many voices are calling for an immediate cancellation of the race.
On Thursday, Ecclestone indicated that a cancellation of the Bahrain GP looked likely, but he took a decidedly different view on Friday, saying that his people on the ground in Bahrain have told him that the situation has improved. He also said that he would not have canceled the GP2 Asia Series race scheduled for this weekend if the decision was made on Friday rather than on Thursday.

Ecclestone changes stance after more Bahrain violence

Bernie Ecclestone has admitted he may have misjudged the situation in Bahrain when he said "it seems as if it's quiet, no big problems".
Reporting from the ground in Bahrain has been mixed, with some areas of the island state relatively unaffected while four deaths have occurred at the heart of the protests. Ecclestone admitted he was misinformed by some FOM cameramen in a Bahrain hotel.
"It appears things are changing hourly," he clarified after widespread reports of increased violence on Friday afternoon. "When I made my earlier statement it was based on information I had at that time, as opposed to what is happening."
