What a lousy showing by Shuie. Not only was he lapped, but he was trying to block 2nd, 3rd, 4th,..... from passing, after he was already lapped.

After canada qualify Vettle must of thought he was going to own the race.

However, Vettel told reporters that he thinks Red Bull is beginning the race on the "right tyre", because the softer one lasts only "a couple of laps".

Hehehe, I think most of the F1 world thought the Bulls were on the right tire.

Strange how things work out sometimes....

It would be fair to say Sebastian Vettel is not on the Christmas card list of two of his countrymen and F1 rivals.

Veteran journalist Roger Benoit, long-time correspondent for the Swiss newspaper Blick, travelled to Montreal on the same Zurich flight as Vettel and Mercedes' Nico Rosberg.

He said the pair were seated not a car's length apart, but neither greeted one another nor exchanged a single word.

Benoit said the reason for the freeze was "clear": a few days earlier, Rosberg had said Vettel was definitely to blame for his crash with Red Bull teammate Mark Webber in Turkey.

Meanwhile, after Sunday's Canadian grand prix, 22-year-old Vettel triggered the temper of Force India driver Adrian Sutil.

Vettel, he revealed to the media, had approached the 27-year-old and sarcastically asked if his rearview mirrors had fallen off during the Montreal race.

"He should be quiet. He thinks he's a superstar," Sutil is quoted as retorting.

The last few races reinforce what I've always thought about the kid; he's a petulent asshat whose talent is overstated and can't beat his teammate without special treatment.

If the bulls are to win over McLaren, go Webber!

Its a matter of perspective Ash, a matter of perspective.

But yeah I agree Vettel is behaving like a brat now. He is out of his zone and his self confidence has taken a whack and he is young.

Add that together with the fact that to succeed in F1 you must be the winner type who will always first and foremost think "ME". That mix really makes the young F1 drivers petulant.

Analysis: KERS a bigger boost in 2011

The return of KERS to Formula 1 next year is set to be more of a success than during its last aborted attempt, teams believe, even though the systems will not be any more powerful than they were in 2009.

F1 technical chiefs agreed at the Canadian Grand Prix that a voluntary agreement not to run KERS this year would be dropped at the end of this season. It means that all teams are now free to run the energy recovery systems from the start of next year.

Ferrari never cease to amaze me:

Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has launched another attack on the new teams in Formula One, after Fernando Alonso lost time and position behind backmarkers at the Canadian Grand Prix.

Alonso lost the lead to Lewis Hamilton after getting baulked by Heikki Kovalainen's Lotus and then conceded second place to Jenson Button when Karun Chandhok's HRT got in the way. After the race Alonso said he was frustrated, but put the incidents down to bad luck.

"We could have won but we did not manage it because, on a few occasions, we paid a heavy price for the traffic," Alonso said. "These things can happen to anyone in a race and this time it was our turn."

However, di Montezemolo argues that cars that are not up to scratch should not be racing in the top flight.

"Cars performing on the same level as GP2 cars should not be allowed to participate in F1; we are supposed to be racing on Sundays," he told Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport. "Our car was good enough to challenge for victory [at the Canadian Grand Prix], so in the future let's hope we are not put a disadvantage while lapping cars. We have already gone through all that."

Di Montezemolo has long backed the idea of three-car teams to make up the numbers in F1 and recently said he was in favour of customer cars to allow new teams to be more competitive.

http://en.espnf1.com/ferrari/motorsp...ory/20632.html

Did he somehow miss that more than the "slow" cars were being lapped? The Lotus has made so much progress now that it is just slightly slower than a Toro Rosso.

So does Ferrari consider that Toro Rosso also should be thrown out and down to GP2? Oh and Schumacher was lapped in his Mercedes so obviously Mercedes is too slow to compete with Ferrari too.

Actually lets make an F1 with only Ferrari because F1 is Ferrari! Now I am praying that a Ferrari will get lapped soon in a race so we can slam Ferrari that they should be racing in GP2.

He is right that the lapped cars are too slow and should not be racing in f1, he is right that they played a major role in alonso's defeat.
The problem is that, as far as I know, those cars are there every weekend for every top team so he should really stop blaming them.
Anybody can make a competitive F1 car with the right budget, don't blame it on the car makers, blame it on the test ban!

Ferrari is making me sick, they should stop being prime donne and start racing.

I have to ask. Which car is fastest? Your Ferrari or your race prepped RX-8?

And I would also like to point out, even though Alfy might get angry at me ... I normally do like the red toy car in F1. They certainly add a lot of excitement to a McLaren fan as the steady counter-part.

I also love Ferraris on the streets. Wicked sound and amazing cars. Even though I am more of a Lambo guy myself

My rx8 is not race prepped, it's just a fun track day car
It's faster than my ferrari btw but the ferrari is pretty old (1987) so you can see why.
Having a nemesis is fun in any sport so yes, mclaren and ferrari need to be there together!

Luca needs to STFU. Bad mouthing slow cars every chance he gets. Doesn't he not know one of his car came in 15th place, when his cars are fast enough to stay in the top 6. Maybe Ferrari should stop racing all together, and everyone will be happy.

Luca di Montezemolo has continued his sustained attack on formula one's new teams.

The Ferrari president thinks the grid should be filled by the bigger teams fielding three cars, rather than by opening the doors to newcomers including Lotus, Virgin and HRT.

Next year, another small team is likely to make its debut.

Spain's El Mundo newspaper this week claims that the budget of the new Spanish outfit HRT is ten times smaller than Ferrari's.Luca di Montezemolo

"In modern F1 races cars with GP2 levels of performance shouldn't be allowed to participate -- they are supposed to race on Sunday mornings," Montezemolo is quoted by Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Montezemolo argues that Fernando Alonso's push for Montreal victory was ruined by the lapping of backmarkers, an apparent reference to his delays behind Jarno Trulli's Lotus and the HRT of Karun Chandhok.

But while it is true that, earlier this year, the small teams were vastly off the pace, all of the six cars were faster by multiple seconds than the entire GP2 field in Turkey recently.

And in Canada last weekend, Heikki Kovalainen's Lotus qualified just two tenths behind the Ferrari-powered Sauber of Kamui Kobayashi, while Virgin and HRT runners were also easily within 107 per cent of the pole time.

The new teams' laptime deficit in Canada was between 3 and 4 seconds, compared with Giancarlo Fisichella's 2.2 second qualifying deficit in a Ferrari-powered Force India at the same circuit two years ago.

A report at Italiaracing said: "It should be noted that the only complaints this season about the smaller teams have come from Ferrari."

^ I don't believe that really did assemble that car. In fact, I don't believe much of what I see on YouTube.
