I had SUCH high hopes for this car, but I have to say I'm letdown by the pics. I'll have to wait to see the real thing before making final judgment.
Nice stats though; 260 HP V6 with 6 speed should be pretty quick.

I don't care for the styling but you can't argue with a 260-horsepower, 3.8-liter, 24-valve MIVEC engine that produces 260 pound-feet of torque. Premium stereo option sounds nice as well.
The Eclipse's optional premium audio system features 650-watt amplification with nine-speakers including a 10-inch, long-throw subwoofer in a fiberglass reinforced, bass-reflex-enclosure. The six-disc, in-dash CD changer plays MP3 files on CD-Rs. In addition to the usual bass, midrange, treble, fader, and balance controls, the Eclipse's advanced Digital Signal Processor (DSP) gives the user total control over the subwoofer "punch" level.

They blew it. That concept car was the hottest thing they ever made and this thing looks, uh, awkward. They need to shitcan whoever is in charge of making their design decisions. Not much of an improvement over the current "Pontiac" Eclipse.

Add me to the disappointed list please. This is such a let down considering their past works. I wanted something that looks like the concept, but all they ended up with is a Mitsubishi Cougar.

I was so excited when I saw the concept at the NY Auto show because I had a 95 eclipse before my 8...but this just blows. At least they turned it back to looking sort of like a 2nd gen...those new ones absolutely suck. Huge disappointment.

What the hell happened?!?!?!? Didn't anyone see the concept? The concept was frickin' awesome, and this is what they ended up with?! This reminds of the PT-concept (otherwise known as the Pronto Cruiser) vs. the PT Cruiser. Why do they always build such trick stuff, then water it down and distort it into something lame. I fear they will do the same with the Chevy SS (if they even ever build it).

the shape of the car is so odd. The Wheelbase looks way to small, and the overhangs look way to long. Its like a 14yr old boy who is growing too fast, not proportional in any way.

Yippee whippee. I guess Mitsubishi gave up the design rights to a blind monkey. The concept is horrible, and I'm sure the production model will be much worse. Is it me or does this car keep getting larger and fatter with age? Who cares if the next Eclipse has 260 hp, it'll probably be a pig, like previous generations (the 1st gen. GSX weighed in at about 3145 lbs). When will Mitsubishi invest in building lightweights?

at least its an improvement over the prior one... that one was a complete and utter failure. However its still NASTY.. the concept had potential but it still sucked as it was
Do you ever catch yourself wondering who the "big wig" was that "okays" these abominations... how much he/she makes and such (probably alot more than most of us) and HOW THE HELL THEY MADE IT WHERE THEY ARE? because its obvious they dont know ****.
Mitsu... give ME that job and that cash and I'll show you an eclipse.
