It is good because they can start off with a fresh chassis with all the improved bits they've developed over the years. The cars will be lighter allowing for better weight distribution.

Congrats again to Speedsource for another victory. It's about time FL got the kind of luck they deserve driving like asshats all year. Just sucks the the #70's been snake bitten all season.
And the news about Emil returning next season, the Saleen team buying the 69 and 70, Dempsey racing getting another car, and the speedsource guys getting two new, fresh rides should mean a crapload of podiums for Mazda next season. Hopefully the BMW program and the Camaro program get up to speed quickly as well to expand Grand Am to an even larger audience. Hopefully the coverage this weekend was indicative of Speed giving more time to GT as well.
Wonder if Speedsource will be using the Yellow Dragon car as one of their new cars or if that is going to Dempsey or another team? I know that either Ham or Sylvain, whoever test drove that at Daytona, said it was faster than either of their current cars.

I think it's cool that they'll be getting new cars. As great as their current cars are, a race car only has about a 3 year or so useful lifespan before it starts losing it's edge. You can bet that with all of the effort that went into the current cars that the next ones will be even cooler.

70 is 6th, 69 is 5th, I am sure this last race swapped their positions

I just hope they don't kill the new cars with even more outrageous restrictions...
Think it's too late to apologize?Yeah, you have fallen off this season... Hope I didn't run you guys off with my ranting...
Really looking forward to seeing the field infested with Mazdas.

Are the 2 Pontiacs going to return?
Also Farnbacher might be switching chassis, maybe to new GT3s?

I wanted to let you know that anyone who purchases a paddock pass will have an opportunity to participate in a “grid walk”. The grid walk allows anyone with the pass to get on pit road prior to the race and take pictures with any driver and their car. I thought that may be something you’d be interested in and you can post it up on the forums as well.
This applies only for the Grand-Am cars so you can get up close with the Sylvain, Nick, and the rest of the speedsource team.

They sold that car. The owner didn't have the funding to get a team together. Hopefully they will next season.
Bob
Who'd they sell it to? Dempsey? Can't be a huge market for heavily modified GT RX8s out there.
Bob
Greg Loles of Farnbacher Loles will field a BMW. I am not sure if they'll continue to field Porsches, most likely tho as I don't think they'll let Mazda win that easily!
Expect to see
2 Dempsey
2 Speedsource
2 Sahlen
1 Racer's Edge
1 Goldin Bro
1 Spencer
so 9 RX-8s at Daytona next year. Get some ear plugs if anyone is going there! (+ wherever the Yellow Dragon car went)
