It's nice to see the classic Gulf colors on a prototype.

That open cockpit Audi is nice, but I have a feeling this R15 is going to be running at Sebring . Notice the ALMS and IMSA stickers on it, she is ready for the American track. IF this car is at Sebring I am going to faint! LOL!

Notice how clean the lines are, I love how the roof scoop flows all the way back to the spoiler for esthetics. Reminds me of the Bently Speed 8.

***UPDATE***
Its been announced the open cockpit Audi will be running at Sebring. Info off the Sebring website.
Audi Officially Unveils Audi R15
Audi has officially unveiled its next generation Le Mans prototype, set to make its world debut on March 21 at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida. The diesel-powered R15 TDI will be looking for Audi's eighth overall win in ten years at Sebring.

Twice this decade Audi won at Sebring in cars making their debut. In 2000, the Audi R8 won in its maiden race here at Sebring. The R10 won in its debut, making it the first diesel-powered car to win a major endurance race.

Leading the two-car Audi team will be veterans Tom Kristensen, Rinaldo Capello and Allan McNish in the #1 Audi. Kristensen will be gunning to become the first driver to win five times overall at Sebring (he and Frank Biela are tied with four victories). The #1 Audi will be driven by Lucas Luhr, Marco Werner and Mike Rockenfeller.

The new R15 TDI features a completely new body style with a V-10 diesel engine producing 600 hp. Numerous new technical features are included within the electrical system and chassis.

Audi won the LMP1 class here last year but finished third overall behind two Porsche Spyders. Audi considers Sebring an essential requirement for success at Le Mans. They will have plenty of competition this year, with Acura, Peugeot and Lola among the leading contenders.

Its gonna be hard for Aston I think, with the dissappearance of GT1, now they have to develope a GT(formerly GT2) car to new specs, and it took them several years to develope the GT1 car to be competitive with the Vettes...

Yeah Aston had a terribe year last year, besides them taking the 24 hour race from the Vettes, they were constantly plauged with engine fires , mechanical problems and some mysterious problems. I hope they have a better year this go round.

OMG THAT IS BAD ***!!!!!!!!

Good find man, I hope a privateer company gets an idea and enters a Audi R8 in the GT2 class, especially now since Audi has introduced the V10 motor, they could easily run with the M3, Porsches,Ferraris and Aston Martins, and soon to be in the group the C6-R Corvettes!

yah that is what i am hoping for also. gives the series more variety of cars other then all the porches dominating the track

You are on the money with your pics! The Audi race car Trio is menacing!

I am hoping the Lambo Garlardo is going to be running at Sebring. Hopefully that privateer company hasn't got cold feet to run with the big boys!lol!

I am going to look up some info and see if i can track down a team list with cars for the race next weekend.

Just found out that the lamborghini team is running in the SCCA world challenge!

Dan Pastorini, -Lamborghini Gallardo - DP7 Racing
DP7 Racing

They are going to have stiff competition from the Caddy boys in Raynal Racing! There CTSV puts the fear of God in alot of those drivers.

This time around alot of Mustangs have entered the competition,a fair amount of Vettes and Vipers along with a handful of BMW's, Mazda 6's, Acura TSX.

New to the lineup is a Lexus IS300 which is cool. And volvo is running there car along with VW, running a TDI jetta which was the laughing stock at Sebring 2 years ago as it trailed a cloud of black smoke making it hard for other cars to pass. Us fans called it cheating as they had there own James Bond smoke screen! Hopefully they fixed that problem....

Can't wait to watch them run on Friday!
