because the skyline and gtr are now going to be separate cars instead of gtr just being a higher performance model of the skyline.

Only maybe in the US, in Japan the GTR is just going to be the more performance oriented version of the Skyline like usual. It may end up not having the Skyline title in the name, but most of us know what it is.

Has anyone noticed a parallel occuring between the late 60's (early 70's) era hp wars and current day?

I'm waiting for the EPA to step in and ruin all our fun again. Maybe two cats per cylinder? Then of course, that would still put the rotaries ahead...being as they have no cylinders .
