Why can't they bring this here! I hate how america gets so few hatchbacks. You can see more if you go to a euro honda website like www.honda.co.uk
That's a handsome little hatch except for the rear end, it's just too damn busy back there. I think that's the first time I've ever said Honda's styling had too much going on - usually they're rather safe and boring designs. Nice to see them starting to spice up their designs a bit, even if it means they'll make a few little mistakes along the way.

EDIT: Just noticed that it has room for 4 doors and outlines for 4 doors, but only two door handles. Only thing I can figure is the rear door handle is concealed up by the window in the rear door. I suppose they'd do this to make the car look like a coupe, but still have 4 doors.

yep, a fwd track monster. the last gen civic R actually beat the rx8 around tsukuba on BMI despite a disadvantage in hp/weight ratio... it was out cornering everything in the race except for the integra type R, i wonder if this gen is actually faster considering civics are getting heavier and heavier each gen. Still id never understimate one of those.

I can say it, but I don't understand your point. What make the GTi a 'poser'?

Trust me, VW's have always been cars for posers. They're the only car company that has somehow imbued itself into the American young person's conscious. That's the phenomenon. Even when I was a kid, VW was the first car that came out of the mouth of a dummy. VW is all about image and life style. Only recently have they started making the cars any good but they're still ****. The image campaign even went up a notch, which is why I detest the shitty car company and every product that has ever come out and why I use it as one of my litmus tests for identifying a dummy.

Their interiors are also so fricking "VW". Even back in the 80's, they had that distinctively cheesy "VW" interior look. That damn "look" is also what drives so many young dumb people straight to the car because these dummies actually like the cheesy faux classy generic trendy "I'm cool" (but really a jackass) deception. The interior alone can be used as a litmus test to identify a dummy.

Well, I had an '88 Jetta, and I have no idea what the hell you're talking about. No repectable young people like Volkswagens. There was nothing attractive about the black smoke constantly following me around.

Young people have any and everything japansese 'imbued' into their conscious.

Right, VW's are **** cans, yet young people love them even back in the 80's. The idea of the ricer didn't exist back in the mid-80's. Civics and Accords were pretty tame back then and Acura hadn't come out yet.

But now, VW is all about the high school female and young professional in their mid-20's to early 30's, most likely involved in the Greek system. So now it's not just normal posers but posers earning money who are total ******** who like to have fun at the expense of other people. Oh yeah, VW also somehow got the grunge metro starbucks "artiste" jackasses as well. I cringe at every new VW model that comes out because I know that more dummies (and ONLY dummies) will buy them.

I think to judge someone on their choice of car is pretty ridiculous. But, say I was shopping for a small, 2 door hatchback, that's fun to drive. What options do I have?

You have all the options minus the VW. If you actually consider a VW Golf or GTI, you are a dummy.

I wasn't judging, just telling you what i observed and gathered. Not saying they're immature like most people think of evo/sti drivers, just saying it's usually hipsters who drive GTi's and golfs, etc.

All the options is actually, no other option. It is the only option.

Isn't calling them "hipsters" a little judgmental? Just call them dummies in general.

I just have a thing against hipsters, just the whole VW conversation sparked something in my head to bring it up. I'm a native new yorker, and tire of them raising the damn rent everywhere... with their VW's and their crappy artwork/paintings and mommy paying for everything. hahaha.

Don't be gay.

Do these "hipsters" like to have wine tastings?

It's one thing to argue against the relative merits, looks, or specifications of a vehicle, but quite another to impugn the character, sexuality, and intelligence of those who drive one. Get a grip.

Ok doc, then you trade in your mustang for a GTI. Don't you think that would be a little over reactionary?

Here's the relative merits. The Civic Si and Mazda 3 are both better than the GTI in technology and chassis. The GTI's reworked suspension is crap. The engine is yet another POS that gets low HP and low mileage and needs FI to get to 197 HP at 2.0 liters? That is crap. And God knows what's going to break down on the car on your way to starbucks.

After reading your second paragraph I shall bid you adieu.... Wow, just wow...And doc, don't even bother bidding me adieu because I bid you adieu FIRST.
