Okay, so because Mazda offered a high powered luxury sport sedan, that is more powerful than the 8, everyone is all up in arms eh? I don't care, I like the 8 better. It's got more style, and not to mention I can put turbo on it whenever I want...provided that Greddy and others go through with their kits...

I was very impressed by the 8's ability to hold cargo when silygrl brought a set of rims to the mscw meet. I think the 8's got more interior/cargo space then some suv's .

Don't worry about people smoking you in the ms6...most of the guys who race the 6 are skipping it, as they aren't too pleased with the AWD setup...you'll mostly be at the stop light facing some teenager whose parent bought the car for them =/.

Ok *raises hood and adjust wastegate*, Im ready now :D

Seriously, the MS6 will be a very sweet car (can't wait to see the finalized American version) and it will only raise the bar (or so it should) for the MS8.

Remember, no matter how fast you think your car is there is one faster. So enjoy what you have as I am somewhat until the mod bug leaves me alone. We are all family so lets keep hope alive and never end the sibling power war

Yea but, SEMA = Greddy's FI for RX-8 = Real results to me.

Hmm using the oil cooler from the overseas version. Not exactly what I'd call efficent. (Note block ontop of the oil filter). Coolant runs through that little itty bitty thing and its supposed to cool the oil =/.

Could be sufficent though, since alot of the cooling is being done by the fuel with direct injection. Kinda of depressing its almost got a mirror of the standard 6i/6s exhaust though .

Dude, do you ever have anything good to say about the MS6? how do you know if the oil cooler is good or bad? do you think that the MS engineers just picked an oil cooler at random and didn't perform any testing?

And, what kind of exhaust would look better than duals out the back? single exhaust, with a JDM style fart can at an angle (Nissan Skyline style), no thanks. I'm sorry if I'm coming off a bit harsh but every post of yours on the MS6 has been negative and there hasn't been a single road test.

The oil cooler is a duplicate copy off the eurospec 6's. I've been researching it for adaptation to the NA Mazda 6s's. Thats how I know. Someone recently installed an oil temp gauge and we all found out the oil's running at around 250F just crusing around...sigh. So of course were all researching coolers to try and get the temps down to a more "normal" 200F range.

I wasn't saying the exhaust was bad...its just a duplicate of the standard 6i exhaust, but with a larger tip. (Mufflers even look the same). I figure they'd throw together something more fancy, thats all.

Thanks for posting the pics btw. Suspension looks nice . Wonder if its got adjustable camber...

Full Service Manual and Technical Highlight Manuals. The Entire EuroSpec Manuals are also floating around on various websites.

http://www.mazdatechinfo.com

The oil cooler above is from the 2005 Tribute. We were trying to adapt it (and can) but will probably go for a more standalone solution using a thermostatically controlled stacked plate cooler attached to the rear of the radiator.

Here's the L3 Cooler (2.3L I4 Duratec platform)

ICK, I was considering waiting waiting for the MS6 to come out before pulling the trigger on an Evo or STi. I doubt I'll bother waiting now.

Mazda just annouced the Mazdaspeed 3 is FWD with a de-tuned version of the 6 MPS engine.

The Curb weight for the MPS is also sans option...grand touring edition adds a bit more weight (probably around 3650 to 3700).

Here's some other curb weights (all fluids + full tank of gas, no driver weight, base options) I dug up.

Mazda MPS : 3,589 lbs
Mazda 6i MTX: 3,042 lbs
Mazda 6s MTX: 3,243 lbs
Evo MR: 3,085 lbs
STi: 3,260 lbs
SRT-4 2,900 lbs
Rx8 3,029 lbs
Mustang GT 3,450 lbs

Here's the spec sheet for you guys
Mazda MPS 2006 Spec

Mazda obviously is competing with suburu wrx sti. Not the rx8. What diff does it make anyway. After The Mazda speed 6 arrival the suburu will no doubt boost it's HP and some of you will be crying the Mazda speed 6 is too slow and needs more HP. Same o Same o. These Hp wars are boring. How much power is enough. These top dog HP discussions are so no where.

I think they are competiting against the G35x sedan and Acura TL. With 300 lbs on the Sti, and 20 less hp, there isn't any way mazda means to compete against it. Maybe a standard wrx.
