my dodge has a problem can someone help?

Hey everyone, just thought I'd post this up to see if anyone can help me out here. My 05 Stratus sxt has a problem with the electrical windows. I thought it was a fluke one time thing but now it's happened again. When the drivers window is rolled down all the way it won't come back up. So now my car has the drivers window rolled down and I don't know how to get it back up. Also the window lock to prevent the other windows from rolling up and down doesn't work. If you press the window lock you can still roll all working windows up and down. Any idea's or suggestions? At least something just to help me get the window up and out of the door so I can get it rolled up then get it to a shop to look at? I appreciate any help you can provide.

I'd say the motor for the window is dead.

Is there any way to pull the window out of the door and me push it up manually just so it's not down all the time until it's fixed?

sounds like the window switch block is going bad. pop the door switch out and jiggle the wires around, see if that helps. or jump the wires and by pass the switch so you can get power to the window motor.

Why don't you just check the fuse? It's usually the simple things.

My girlfriend bought a Dodge a few years ago (without consulting me, "Mr. Car Guy"). The door had a rattle so she tooks it into the dealership. What I am about to say is completely true - they found a Coke can in the door. Inside the door. A COKE CAN. One of the guys assembling it at the factory must have thought that would be funny. Maybe the same guy put together your door.

When I lived in Michigan, I knew a guy that said he put a can in a place that would be welded up. They would have to tear that car apart to get rid of that rattle. That is one of the reasons that GM, Ford & Chrysler are in the pits.

I know on newer jeeps, those switches are computer controlled...even seen one mess up and roll the window up, then stop working...try disconnecting the battery, clearing the computer and reconnecting the battery. That worked for the jeep.

My brother-in-law worked as a security guard at a GM one summer during his undergrad. He has so many stories the workers there were always bragging about throwing spare nuts and bolts and **** inside the doors and other places. They thought it was the funniest thing ever. Now these same dumbfucks are whining about all the layoffs and pay cuts. Guess what, that's what happens when you intentionally sabotage the company that's employing you!

I'd consider the possibility of someday owning a domestic-built Toyota or something, but I will never, ever buy anything made by the UAW.

The switch is broken. You need a new button assembly. The same thing happened to my Nissan. Dont waste your money on a new motor, its just the switch.

My Dodge Dakota had the same problem. It's the switch. Try pushing/pulling the toggle to get the window up. Get a new switch.

MOPAR products are known to have electrical problems.

It's the switch.

Thanks so much for everyone's input, guess what...It magically came up again. So now that it's up I'm not rolling it down again until I can try the suggestions here. I'd also like to say that I just love this forum and the people here who help with knowledgeable advice. I posted this same thing on a dodge stratus forum I found hoping that maybe those guys who actually spend more time with the car would know. I never really drive the stratus always the 8. To this day I have had 1 lame reply on that board and I posted here at almost the same time and had responses in minutes. You guys rock! Thanks for the help

Here's my dodge forum link http://www.dodgeforum.com/m_900753/tm.htm
