Mini Challenges Porsche to a Race at Road Atlanta
How many people were on facebook to check this out? That is where Mini won. Now tons of facebook users will get spam blasts from Mini. 2 seconds on that small of a purposely designed course is embarrassing, but it sure did drum up some interest, good or bad.
Did anyone else notice at the end of the video what is said,"You beat us.This time"?
Uh oh I hope there not thinking of racing Porsche again, hopefully if there smart enough they will use the John Cooper Works version of there car.

I saw that. If they use that to set up a reveal to a much better car, then this whole thing might not end up looking stupid. At this point, it's just kind of expected.
Go check out the vid here at Autoblog:

This was obviously a stunt for the general public that dont know 2 seconds is a huge. Ask the general public and they would be amazed that the Mini is only 2 seconds behind a porsche. That was the objective, and they succeeded
Mini should send their top of the line highest performance car against the exact same Porsche on a nice twisty track. I vote for the Nurburgring Nordschleife. It has a few curves in it which should make Mini happy. That is where all performance cars get truly tested anyways. In fact send a lower model Porsche out there like a Boxter or for the fun of it a Cayenne S.
Mini should also accept the Hyundai challenge. They know good and well that they'll lose though so if they do accept a challenge it will probably be an even tighter course rigged in their favor. Something along the lines of which car can parallel park in the smallest spot.
I don't think they were counting on Porsche to put a very good driver in the car. They were probably hoping for someone from the office who just works there but drives a Prius to work instead.
