The only way this would even be a hard decission for me is if I could find a Legacy GT in the B Spec trim. That would make it a dificult decission. Other wise the MS6 wins hands down for me. However, i already voted with my wallet a few months ago. Love the MS6, no regrets.

Spoken for truth - as an 8 and a MS6 owner.

Legacy GT is faster, more reliable, and the spec B is a joke if you plan on modding it, better off with the GT spec.

very nice article! enjoyed the reading. it kind of tells you something when the legacy gt spec b is faster on the straights but the speed6 has better handling. it kind of reminds me of the whole rx8 vs __insert car here__ seems like the awd system in the speed6 was built for handling rather than putting mad power to the wheels.

Agreed....Its almost as if when Mazdaspeed engineers sat down to build the MS6 they came up with.......A MAZDA. Great in the corners, but not the best in a strait line. Like the article says, this is mazdas calling card. Its also what I love about the cars. I would say that most Mazda owners would rate handling over strait line speed.

Well I doubt the new 2010 Evo X MR is in his price range, since he is looking at used MS6's (which go for <18,000) and LGT's. The 2010 MR has full leather interior, Navi, lip spoiler, HIDs, Full color display screen, moonroof, etc.

Plus I think the Evo is still considered a compact and the Legacy and 6 are considered mid size sedans?

Id definately consider an evo as well having built up 2 DSMs (Talons) in my past. Ill have to check prices but when I got my 8 recently EVOs with decent mileage were still above 18k around here.

Also looking at MS6s they seem to be 17k w. good miles so I will probably get the Legacy GT, I see them for 13-15k with low miles around here(for an 05, MS6 didnt come out till 06).

Ideally Id like to spend 12k since Im financing 100percent. I like cheap which is why I modded Eclipse/Talons and I got my 8 used for 12.5k on a weekend special sale. I love my 8 though and would have paid more after the test drive but was shocked when salesman said I could get it for 12.5k on sale down from 14.5k so I jumped all over it.

Are you looking for a manual or automatic LGT? Wagon or sedan? Limited or standard trim? There are deals to be had these days. I found my car on the LGT forums. You should check it out.
