I heard the same thing about the regular Mazda6, and the Rx-8, both aftermarkets are still weak. I'll believe it when I see it.

Not likely with the direct injection and the complex ECU code that will support it. It will take some time for anybody other than Mazdaspeed to release some software. Without a more aggressive ECU tune all those exhaust and intake bolt-ons won't free up as much power as they could otherwise.

You can check out the crazy differences with the DFI platform over at 6tech (I ain't linking directly, so you'll have to be proactive).

But here's a starter. How's two fuel pumps, and a fuel pressure rating of 1667 PSI sound?

The fuel pressure variance after the second fuel pump is from 435.2 psi to 1667 psi...lol. The pressure relief valve doesn't even open till 1885 psi.

Tuning this baby is going to require a completely different mindset.
