Woo-hoo, I guess
Definitely not interested in a full-size SUV that handles like a turd.
And I still don't get why CX-3 exists. I went a dealer to see one and there is a 3 hatch right beside it. The 3 hatch is actually bigger than CX-3 on the inside. WTF. The only things going for CX-3 are the facts that it sits higher and can be had with AWD. It also seems like even the dealer recommends the 3 hatch...

CX-3 is off the Mazda 2 'D' Series platform, this is why it is smaller, including inside than a Mazda 3.
And yes, the KAI Concept is the new Mazda 3, minus the large wheels, tight wheel arches, small door cameras/mirrors, and I don't see that full sky roof happening.

But really, the higher ground clearance is the only thing going for it... Although one of my friends does actually like that, and she doesn't have a family or anything so space isn't really a concern.
That sky roof reminded me of those classic T-roofs...

My neighbour (across the road) bought a new CX-3 after asking me and seeing my two Mazda's, he had a Suzuki SUV and before that Toyota Camry.
He loves the Mazda (made in Thailand), I took for drive (2.0l Auto) and really is a sweet little car, he is single and 75 so big enough or him, but I think he wishes he bought a CX-5 (larger), but at the time late last year you could not buy a CX-5 anywhere.
Now Mazda are making in Hiroshima and now Hofu there are more stocks, previously in Hofu only the 3 and 6 were made there 24/7 on 3 shifts, so as 'sedans' are falling in sales the CX-5 keeps the Hofus capacity going.
Mazda like many car brands just do not know what to do about "Sedans" as they don't sell in the numbers to warrant/justify making new Generations, IMO unless we see things change I don't think we will see another generation 3 and 6 after this next one coming, based from KAI and Vision.
People ONLY want SUV's....sadly.

I drove a rental BMW X3 and it was such hot garbage. The 2.0T is laggy AF, although that may have to do with the intermittent CEL the car kept giving me(thankfully, nothing really happened), but yeah, the handling was just awful. Can't complain about the practicality, though, but I reckon a hatch and/or a wagon could do the same thing without the shitastic handling.
It's especially baffling when I have friends who are young, don't have a family and can afford a sports car, yet drive an SUV. Like really? Live a little before you have to buy something bigger with a family.

I think that Mazda can play a serious role , because had a long history into niche models market.
so i hope that Mazda will go into RWD (with AWD option) platform with midsize and large models.
And return into "+200hp segment" with a complete offer of models, not a single model for a single market
overall less numbers , but more margins...for the bread&butter (high numbers) they can continue to build SUV/CUVs

The CX-3 has the same "lowest point" ground clearance as the Mazda 3.
The only reason to buy a CX-3 is if you see small size as a pro rather than a con. That's it. Source: I own a CX-3. It makes life in downtown Chicago noticeably easier. The CX-3 is the smallest Mazda hatchback you can get in the US(the Scion iA/Yaris iA is butt-fugly sedan-only)

And the chances for a turbo AWD manual wagon in brown will be available in the US are...?
Edit: Just checked the desktop website from my desk in Chicago and AWD isn't listed anywhere in the build process. Also, manual is only available on the lowest Sport trim (with the non-turbo engine).

20 minutes of my life I'll never get back
- updated CX-3 (which no one will buy)
- Android Auto / Car Play coming to 2018 models. (potentially earlier models as well but the wording was very vague. We'll wait for the official press release)
- A new 'brand platform': #FeelAlive. dafuq?
- Oh, and some new social partnership with Amazon. Yeahhhh....

That said, I don't think I see Mazda on the CarPlay support list yet.
Couldn't care less about the CX-3; like I said, even the dealer doesn't seem to give a ****.
The last two just sound like Mazda is trying to be "in" and "cool".

The ONLY way to check is to cross reference Mazda's actual Part Numbers, when shocks, suspension parts, door seals etc have not changed (individual OEM Part Numbers remain unchanged) then it is ALL Spins and BS to suck up to the media and convince them of what they (Mazda) are pushing.
IF Mazda Part Number has not changed between face-lift then neither has the part.
I am somewhat surprised that the 'new' CX-3 has not got the new honeycomb style Grille like the New CX-5 and Mazda 6??.
As far as the Turbo 6 goes, NO Specs for Australia yet, if that is what you were asking?

They do sell the Mazda2 Hatch in US owned Puerto Rico so in theory you could buy it here and ship it over.

Looks great but the weight does hinder handling a little as all that weight sloshing around corners, some guys could tell the diff between RX-8 with or without the small sunroof??
Then the Extra heat, AC works harder, blah, blah and blaH.
Don't forget the cost of replacement, body flex and high speed flying rocks/stones create havoc, just ask KIA/Sunday Dealers.
BTW, Looks like FINALLY Mazda adds CarPlay and Android Auto with the new Mazda 6, ....and for other model roll outs......YES!
BUT, a big BUT, existing owners will need to buy a "Genuine Mazda Accessory" (hardware I guess) to install and then run to get CP and AA.
No Idea on the cost, AFAIK the AA is free as licence is open, CP has IP rights and licencing costs associated to use it.

Looks like we RX-8 owners won't get anything, though, since they mentioned that it has to have Mazda Connect to work.

Mazda AU did have a 'Genuine' hands free kit ($500) for NC (Miata owners) and Series 2 RX-8 owners that was plugged in under the dash somewhere, BUT was expensive and cheap at the same time...lol..., and my contacts said reliability was bad and better off buying a eBay $30 hands-free unit that plugs into *** Lighter, which I did.
But what annoys me more is Mazda takes SO LONG to do things, and SLOW.
First the breakthrough in Second Gen Mazda's is they factory install a 12V Plug in the S2 RX-8 and NC2 Miata, but no USB Ports, then not until Skyactiv did we see any USB ports and Car Smart Phone use, most other brands had this 2-3 years prior.

Here is another one, the new update CX-9 Signature (top of range), with most other brands CX-9 competes with has REAR SEAT Back Monitors (screens) for the Kiddies to play with, but not the MAZDA CX-9.
So a few years later Mazda in the USA does a Deal with some Brand like Samsung/whatever and boom there is now a Genuine "Mazda Kit" available which consists of two Rear Screen Monitors, with two BT Headphones, and a player, or is it a USB MP4 Drive?, anyway I think about $3000 USD, and now available through your Mazda Dealer.
These should be factory installed and standard, Mazda wants PREMIUM, well behave LIKE a Premium Brand.
