that's amazing! i can't wait to see them here and i would love to see the mazdaspeed 2. unfortunately, in tx, driving a car that small is just asking to be crushed by every 3rd person in a giant truck.

I would think that with the new CAFE requirements, that would prompt Mazda into actually bringing the Mazda2 here to the States.

I also live in Texas and realize how dangerous this would be... but I wouldn't be surprised if the car and truck makeup of the US changes over the next decade. Then again, I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't change either. We're just stubborn.

If I was in the market for a small car the Mazda2 would be it except for the fact that they don't sell it here. Is that Ford's decision?

Jacked this from the stealthTL Mazda 2 thread but can't get enough of it...

Ford is probably worried that that car, which looks like it was made of extra strength awesome sauce, will out sell their Focus, which is made of 100% fail.

Yep...I'm sure this would be a great car for Mazda, just like the 3. I do think BTW, that ford is worried about the success of this little car here in the states.
Mazda should make the the 3 a bit larger, to make room for the 2.
I would be all over that MS2, with different wheels though.

its a very good looking car.

the small cars have definately made a big comeback (especially here in Canada)

I see alot more people driving cars like the Yaris and the Fit. The Mazda 2 should be a good competitor as well. They should bring it over, im sure it will take a bite out of Honda's and Toyota's market share in this segment. Heck look what the 3 did, without a doubt it put Mazda back on the board.
