I live in MA obviously gonna try to find my Rep's name and tell them "There is a election coming up and if you vote for this bill I wont be voting for you. If I hear no responce I'll assume you intend to vote for this bill and will tell others not to vote for you also." Bullying maybe but it is a election year after all in my state

Sadly this bill was most likely brought about by some lawmaker who got tired of hearing riced out civic's with coffeecan exhaust blaring up and down his streets. And not fully realizing this will put alot of business's well out of business. We have a few (that I know of) custom exhaust shops in my area alone god knows how many in our state. If this bill passes its a death warrent for them Gonna repost this in the NE section if it hasnt already

Here in Hawaii they have lawas that are extermely restrictive, but even the cops have modded personal cars they use for patrol.. so essentially nobody really cares unless your in certain areas.

point is, even if the law passes... doesnt mean its necessarily the end of the world for exhausts in MA.

All it takes is one "concerned citizen" to report to the police or town board about a custom exhaust place operating in the town and they'll be shut down for breaking the law. This law make it illegal to purchase or install the exhaust. Dont say "oh that wont happen" look at our over reactive society lately its more knee jerk than anyything else, especialy in our state right now. I'm concerned soley because our exhaust at times does get loud and last thing I want is to get pulled over for supposedly having a aftermarket exhaust when its stock. We've all ran into dick cops so this for our state is just giving them more ammo against us. And yes again I'm from MA so I'm taking this seriously lol.

I wrote to my local rep and at the end of the email just said "I hope I voted for a car guy" hehe.. I hope to hear back from him if so he's got my vote on this upcoming election.

Silly law - it ignores the fact that for older cars the newer exhaust systems and Cats, may remove more pollution from the exhaust, and make them more legal in states like Calif. that have stiffer exhaust laws. Now, I can see someone trying to do a noise control act, but that is a separate issue from limiting all changes from the factory original exhaust systems....
Is track racing permitted in Mass.?

^ They stated it excludes cars over 25 years old so some cars are exempt from the law but cars under that age would still benifit from a newer better exhaust. Winfree write to one of the reps and just say your from MA haha.
