Still have another semester to go... We'll see what happens down the line. I might stay in school for another couple years, which means no car (of any kind) for me for a little while longer

Here is the traditional definition of exotic with which I'm most familiar.

An organism or species that is not native to the continental United States; synonymous with "alien."

An exotic car would be any car with origins outside the United States. If you lived in Australia, it would be any car with origins outside Australia. Yes, this means the Lotus is exotic. Even the RX-8 is exotic... at least to me. I don't hail from Japan.

Hmm i walked out of a restaurant into the parking lot one day, and usually my 8 is the only noticable car in a parking lot (to me at least), but a lotus in the same color (white) outshined mine and demanded attention! the only car so far to do that ...it's gotta be an exotic! =)

I think trimming the interior takes away exactly what makes the interior of the Exige awesome. It's one of the only cars that you can buy today that's ALL business - no screwing around. You have a seat, a wheel, a shifter and just barely more than enough things to hold all of it together. Adding "niceties" to the interior of the Exige kind of goes against the basis of what the car's all about.

In other news, it's kind of strange, but as I've been getting older, I've come to use my radio less and less. In fact, I'm relatively certain that right now you could take it out and I wouldn't miss it. I don't think I've had it on for any length of time for well over a month. I'm beginning to think that an HVAC system may be the next on my list of unnecessary things. I pretty much only use the air when I have passengers or on the hottest days of the summer (which, in FL, is about 3-4 months) and we have no winter. I guess we'll find out if I ever end up shunning that one. It's like I'm slowly forcing myself into a car like the Exige.

Well is the Rx-8 exotic with its unconventional high F1 reving 3 main parts motor, sleek looks, suicide doors?

Yep, I'd already realized that I was wrong:

Depends upon you opinion. Me no it's not. It's too ugly. Lines don't flow.

But if you consider the 8 exotic then the Lotus is too!

I think the lines flow very well. If they were to get rid of those two front inner oval lights which I think are the turn indicators, then the car lines would flow even better.

So I went to Lotus of Beverly Hills last weekend and sat inside a black Lotus EXIGE S. I have to say that this is the first time in 2 years I've thought about selling my 8.

I personally don't see anything exotic about it. It's actually kind of goofy looking. It looks like every other Lotus. It's just a fairly light little sports car that performs good. That doesn't make it exotic. You want exotic? How about the only car produced right now that has an internal combustion engine that doesn't have pistons! Does that count?
