The GT has a major advantage: rearward weight bias. Better for acceleration from a standstill or exiting a corner.

It's also carrying 300lbs more than the Z06 is. I'm curious to see how the new Corvette stacks up against the GT once it's been released. I'm sure that some magazine will do a head to head matchup with those two cars as soon as they can get their hands on a Z06.
