In america, I belive these go for the low 20's while the MX-5 goes for mid 20's.

I bashed him good on that question - he said there are too many Miatas on the road. He has a plate on the dash that says "First 1000". I asked why they didn't number them individually instead of just having one out the whole 1000 group.

The Vaux was a mid-rear setup. I don't know it's chassis designation, but both the Solstice and Sky are front-rear Kappa chassis.

On trunk space: I remember reading on the Sol forums that GM was looking at a redesign of the fuel tank and spare tire area to create more trunk space for the '07 MY. I don't know if that was rumor or a GM release, however.

The Mx-5 kinda looks like a girly bar of soap too .

You can't compare the Solstice or Sky to the 8, but they could eventually give the Miata/MX-5 a run for its money. It depends on how they do in the long run. Right now I'd pick a Miata/MX-5 hands down. If Pontiac and Saturn really want into Mazda's small sports car market, they'll have to avoid the temptation to add all manners of glitzy crap in later models and stick with making a sports car rather than a luxury roller skate.

WRONG. Miata goes for $20,995 base and Solstice for $20,490

Miata FTW!

If you want to call people out, include the actual charge of destination. $21,030 for the Miata. But honestly, who wants a Miata with a 5 speed? The 6 speed (touring and grand touring) models are a good 4000-5000 more, but very worth it.

Sky and Solstice uses exact same base. Vauxhall is based on Elise (AFAIK).

I like Sky a bit more than Solstice. But 2 seater just doesn't work for me.

I really like the gray color of the Solstice. And I agree with a few of you that the Sky looks 10x better.

Just drove the Sky at the GM Experience (Virginia International AutoShow). The handling is very sharp and the engine is responsive with a nice exhaust note but I didn't like the view out of the front windshield. I had to keep looking down under the top post to see the traffic light out the window. I don't know if I could live with that.

i looked at the sky & solstice up close at the la auto show. the exterior of the sky was really nice. but, the interior of both cars was extremely unimpressive. cheap plastic, awkward shaped *****, and tacky console layout. i think GM is on the right track, but this car still needs a lot of work...

I bought my wife the Sky and it was delivered about 2 months after my 8 last summer. The Sky is a gorgeous car and looks much better than the solstice or the mx-5. It is not a sports car like our 8's - simple as that. But it is a really fun car in a different way - as a cruiser. We've been on long and short trips in it, and enjoyed them all. I am also 6' 1", and fit in it fine. We are very please with our purchase.

Base MX-5 over a base Solstice. Solstice GXP over the MX-5. I like the Miata name but I force myself to use the new nomenclature.

The Solstice rear end is ugly and big.

The rear end is ugly and big? Pssh, the front end is ugly and big..
I think the problem I have with the solstice is the whole car is sorta bulbous bulgy blech looking.. The sky is a much nicer looking car, even if it does have practically the same rear end and a saturn badge on it. The front end looks much much better.
So.. for me it'd be...
sky redline > mx-5 > base sky > solstice gxp + solstice

Well the front end is less heinous than the rear but I agree Sky is better looking inside and out.

Sky Redline then MX-5 then GXP then Sky then Solstice

Calling Mazdspeed MX-5!

I'm in probably in the minority here but in the looks department between the Sky, Solstice, and MX-5 I like the MX-5 the least! I haven't had the chance to drive the 3 but I'm pretty sure the MX-5 is the better driving experience!
