Saw a brand new Lexus 430 today...had to check it twice..thought it was an RX-8 in a deep blue. Very, very close styling....but the RX-8 has better hips.

 

This is what you mistook for an Rx-8? (2005 Lexus 430)

 

you can't just say 430, as that is the engine used in, what, at least 3 of their cars, if not more (I don't know about the SUVs)

 

Imitation is the greatest form of flattery (new Jag, Lexus, etc.)

 

My boss bought an SC 430, and I went out right away and bought an 8 because he boght the 430.. so I must have mistaken the 8 for the sc 430 :D

 

The cars that some people on here think look like an RX-8 are baffling to me...

 

It was the SC 430 and it was not a convertible. I first saw it from a rear quartering view (passenger side).... On second look (I was driving in traffic at the time...) it obviously isn't an 8, but the styling cues are there.

 

Are you people on drugs? I'm pissed on Benadryl and Bromplex, and I can tell the difference.

How many time have you slowed down because you think the car behide you might be a cop.... some times you even think the rack on top of the car are the cherries.

Yeah, but the previous model wasn't a 430, but a SC300 or SC400.

 

Then I'd swear up one side and down another that this one had a hard top...

 

they're all hard tops ... hard top convertibles ... lawerence said it earlier

I don't understand what you mean Ike... Just the other day I was getting on the freeway in broad daylight and saw a car behind me that looked just like an RX-8... When it pulled up next to me I realized it was a WRX. I swear, they looked identical!
