I saw a G35C parked near my car, in white. The lines on the G35C are striking; the car is gorgeous, and with the extra power coming, this car looks more and more appealing.

I'm still keeping my RX-8, no matter what. :D

I'll go to my grave without ever seeing the appeal of those ugly ***, boring cars. But more power to nissan for finding the suckers to buy them.

It's nice that these cars have all these fun kits that are boosting power to 450 to 500 hp, but I would seriously question the long term reliability of this cars without major reinforcement. They had the ATI Prochager that was boosting hp to around 400-425 hp and it was blowing engines. Many people on the 350Z website said at the time the max hp on these cars without engine work was around 425 hp.

The G35C is a solid, attractive and smoothly powerful car. I'd have one if I could

The new power increase is going to be pretty interesting. The 350Z and G35C crowds are very interested in where the additional hp in the 05 comes from, and hopefully be able to retrofit these changes onto older cars. (ex. putting a $70 Z intake tube on the G35C gives a decent power gain, more so on the sedan)

As far as FI goes, there are several choices for the VQ35DE engine. The ATi was the first but also the most problematic. The new Vortech supercharger is far more reliable and produces more power. (close to 500 @ crank) Greddy Twin Turbo have been very successful as well at around 480hp at the crank. Stillen Supercharger is by far the most reliable, with 3 stages of tuning, and available 3 year engine warranty for minimal price. The Stillen is capable of around 440hp with great torque. Recently more FI options became available including Power Enterprise turbo charger and HKS rotrex supercharger. The downside is that you are looking at spending at least $7000 to FI the Nissan engine.

Same thing with the RX-8. Expect at least $6,000+ for a complete forced induction kit.

I've heard nothing but good things about Stillen's supercharger. Is it a roots or Lysholm-type supercharger?

I would love to see a VQ30DETT swap, similar to what the JGTC teams do to their race machines. This monster motor puts out a Japan-limited 280 PS. Like the RB blocks, anything you add to its flow characteristics will increase the power n-fold.

Anyhoo, I wanted to mention why no one bothered to mention Nissan's unique split lower control arms. I think the concept is a great idea; I believe the split lower control arm evenly distributes loads, and therefore reduces overall stress. However, Nissan didn't catch the problem with the suspension problems; I guess this is why people neglected the complex suspension. It's good to see the trickle-down effect for sports car suspensions.

Yup. That's exactly what I'm talking about.

I believe all the competing Z33's in the GT500 class utilize the VQ30DETT, not to be confused with the VG30DETT.

The DETT version is a monster, installing it into the Z would put the car near or above the future GTR.

Hell, the VG30DETT belonging to the Z32 was around 300 hp. Too bad that car was an anvil compared to the other featherweight Japanese sports cars. Nissan has always had the knack for twin-turbocharging everything it puts out. Remember the Gloria, Cedric? Freakin' nuts.

Anyway, I'm still fixated on this car, sans the numerous luxury items that go with it. If only they had a base, base, base, base, base model, I would totally pwn one.
