I watched the Sagan video, and while not generally a fan of his, what he said is very true.
As citizens, it is time to come out of our slumber, and get active. We need not sit around and watch the world burn, and shrug. We have latent power, and need to begin using it.
The other thing that is a wealth killer, and is seldom mentioned, is taxation. We are all, in any nation represented on this forum, taxed too much. Our governments do not respect our tax dollars, and waste is rampant.
Then, they want more, while debasing the currency-a double tax. Some even call for a New Feudalism, and are attempting to implement. Massive corporations wield too much power now, all over the world.
If any politician wants to raise taxes or does not speak of cutting taxes and government accountability, tell them to pound sand. Never vote for an individual with those views, no matter what else you agree with, and little by little, things can change. Taxation without accountability is one of the highest forms of moral hazard, and we live the consequences every day, and nothing gets done about it. It can be stopped, and reversed. By us. They will never do this unless held accountable. The Right and the Left both sell their constituencies down the river, and pay lip service to solving real problems.
Remember, there was a 55 mph speed limit for years in the USA. Not anymore. Misguided, stupid policy that caused damage with little benefit. But, things can be changed. Many, many examples of this. All is not lost.
Also, C19 has shown that most "Democracies" are only one or two steps away from tyranny. Some have even crossed the line. Scary, but the pendulum can swing in the other direction just as easily, often does, and probably will. Get informed, and get organized!
