I finally bought a new car...

Unfortunately, it's not the RX-8 I wanted.

I purchased a 2002 Acura RSX Type S.

19500 miles, loaded EVERYTHING, and I stole it for 18500.

Gonna plan on keeping this car for awhile...who know what will happen in the future? My RX-8 "poster" is still hanging up in my living room! :p

No offense, but I think that that price is way high. A brand new one has a MSRP of $23k and the only factory option is the color. I'm sure you could find a new one for cheaper than MSRP if you shopped around, they're not rare, and it's not a brand new model any more. So by getting a 2-3 year old car with 20k miles on it you're only saving around ~$4k or less? Doesn't sound like a very good deal to me. I know the resale value of Acuras is good but I don't think that it's quite that high....

pidge, just how many RSX-s' do you know? Strange they all have syncro problems. Acura must have used totaly different syncros in that one model No syncro problems in any other Acura.

Go visit www.clubrsx.com -they have an online petition to Acura to solve some transmission / gear problems. What they are exactly? I don't know.

The problem is really only minor. Clubrsx just likes to whine.
Its basically a grinding noise when shifting fast into seccond gear.

I know 2 people with typeS's neither has the problem.

Congrats! What made you go with the RSX when you wanted an 8? Out of your price range or something else?

Didn't want an 8, didn't want an RSX. My acquisition for the year was a Lotus Elise that will be here in June (keeping fingers crossed).

Not getting rid of the FD though.
