Ohio Rust

Why bother- don't Ohio plates just rust off themselves in a week or to?

Thats strange that the police are actually citing owners for not having a front licence plate. Since here in california they really don't care because I've been driving mine like that for over a year. Then again I have my DOD sticker on the windshield and most of the police here in San Diego and Cucamonga are prior military.

I wish they would get rid of front plates in NY...I got obscene amounts of tickets with my old car for that.

What's the reasoning behind front plates anyway? Is it so they can pull you over while they're in front of you? Maybe so they can pull you over while you're driving in the oncoming lanes? I never really understood the purpose.

Here in Cali, there is an unspoken law of not citing Corvettes.. since they RARELY ever have front plates. I asked a sheriff friend and he said they never give tickets for that on Corvettes.

Try driving your car with no front plates to the checkpoint at LAX, they'll give you a ticket. As you roll up to them, ticket. Also any sobriety checkpoints, ticket. Having the plate in the front windshield doesn't matter. Ticket.

This ticket and the "Aftermarket" exhaust in California re the dumbest ones out there. Totally focusing on the youth,.. and perhaps specifically the Asian youth population. If you're Asian, young, driving import, you WILL get a ticket before you reach 21 and not for speeding either.

Yet you always see Harley's with 110 decible choppers ripping down the street back and forth...

Must be because the owners of Vettes and Harleys, are all rich, educated, white males that would fight the ticket and win the case ...

I've had a couple of tickets for no front plate on our Miata. Finally put it back on because my wife didn't like getting stopped for it. I figure it's worth $75 (the fine in Ohio) to keep the ugly thing off the front of the car.

Generally I think it's just a ticket for having too much fun. Every time I've gotten one it's been in a situation where I was driving quickly but not recklessly and the officer wasn't able to clock me or find another excuse to stop me.

The RX will go without a front plate, at least until I get stopped.
