GTR ride
Just came back from riding in this beast . Think it could take on my 8
The guy had just rebuilt the engine - something to do with a oil pressure relief spring failing . While he was at it he had the motor tweaked (hennesy). New BOVs and intakes + ECU programming and exhaust . It produces somewhere north of 600whp now
Sorry about the crappy photos and video ...

+1 that is mt only gripe with the car. its huge, visibility is low-ish, and it weighs so much. Its all computers, like the new EVO. Admitted though, its still badass, and I won't pass judgment till I drive one, but wont expect much either.

taking turns in the GTR is as effortless as power delivery. kind of takes away the fun from taking turns, for me, the thrill is taking a car to the limits on the track, but when driving a gtr, it was awesome taking turns but it wasn't as thrilling. its an awesome car all the same though. there's prestige in driving it, but not as fun to drive. did he have the traction control off? i had to keep it on due to warranty issues i believe but the owner wouldn't let me turn it off, should ask him why.

Anyways, I think Autoblog had an article review of the GT-R which summarized it best:
"New rule: All observations concerning the GT-R at less than 80 mph or 5,000 rpm (whichever comes first) are meaningless."

it is fat and as for warranty YES nissan DOES void warranty on trannies that have launch control used more than a certain amount of times a year ... i have a friend with a gtr and his is sitting in his garage coz his tranny is busted and nissan wants 15k for a new one as he used launch control too much and is currently taking legal action for that bs ... they have some sorta black box that records the details

Nissan voids warranty coverage on the transmission if it blew while you used it with the VDC off. However, the statement that they'll void the transmission if you "turn off all electronics and drive it hard" is wrong.
Also, the 2010 GT-R no longer will grenade it's transmission if you used launch control. It just doesn't have VDC as an option to turn off anymore.
