I just saw this here about the Nordschleife and I got excited at first but pretty much agree with what they are saying about how it probably wouldn't make it to prologue. If they give us anything as far as cars or tracks, though, I'll be happy.
At first it seemed like getting to 2 million would be boring and tedious but once I started racing online I would have racked up a half million in one sitting before I new it.
Right now I run standard physics and never like using any assists except maybe ABS. I started on Professional but reverted back to Standard for this reason. On previous GT games I looked to GTPlanet forums to compare detailed tuning settings and haven't checked out the GT5-P section yet but will probably do this weekend.

Those of you looking at the G25 wheel, Don't get it. The gated shifter doesn't work in most games, and neither does the clutch. Also, the force feedback is strong, but it's not very realistic.
The one you really want is http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/ga.../4172&cl=us,en
The force feedback is much better on the driving force GT.

random gripe: I can't seem to beat my buddy when he's driving a stupid Evo! That thing just kills me coming out of the corners.
On a side note: if you do a high speed track, that Evo doesn't stand a chance against an 8. Higher top speed FTW!

GT5 Prologue Update Coming August 1
http://www.gtplanet.net/gt5-prologue...ming-august-1/
Polyphony Digital has just posted a special news release to their Japanese site - a downloadable update to Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (the Japanese version, at least) will be available on August 1, 2008. Aside from the updates to the Gran Turismo TV service, which we will cover in another post, here’s the primary new features that you can look forward to:
* Improved penalty judgments in online races.
* Improved collision physics in online races.
* Improved handling characteristics for S1-S3, and R1-R3 tires
* New calculation rules for performance points.
* 6 new songs added to the soundtrack.
* Players matched in Online races now added to the [Friends] -> [Players Met] menu within Playstation 3.
* The time and score from replays of time trials, drift trials, and distributed demo replays are now displayed after their replay.
* From the latest screenshots, a new “location” for your selected car appears to have been added to the main menu screen.
There is still, unfortunately, no word on using your own music in-game or making any use of the PlayStation Network’s “trophy system”. See the full press release, with all of the new features and changes, after the jump.
Gran Turismo 5 in 2010
http://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-5-in-2010/
In a very interesting statement at E3 today, GT series creator Kazunori Yamauchi brought us both good and bad news. The good news is that he confirmed that the Polyphony Digital team was focusing nearly all of their efforts on Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, working hard to bring us features like vehicular damage, private online races, new tracks, and more cars. Of course, there ain’t no such thing as a free lunch, and he added that these updates could push the full version of Gran Turismo 5 back into 2010. He also confirmed that Gran Turismo Mobile, for the PSP, is still in “active development” but probably not be released until after Gran Turismo 5 (in other words, 2011).
Bottom line: Good news GT5-P will get lots of updates including content, Bad news this is because GT5 full version will be pushed back to 2010. Oh well, I'm sure it will be well worth the wait.

I am not sure how any can play with a controller. today i decided to play GT5p with controller, since i let my brother borrow my g25 wheel. i tell you, drifting with a controller is not fun.
so here is my attempt to drift with the controller. you can watch the replay since i am the only person who using the amuse on this track. i circled parts on the pic that you need to change, so you can pick the right track etc. usually my score on this track is 14.5k (with wheel) so i am like 7k short.
usually i would drift the opposite way (to get most points on turns) then drift with the turn. but with controller its just way to hard for me that is. maybe after getting use to controller ill start doing it my old way.
once you select the right track, car etc bring the cursor down to name box and hit x. then you will be able to select my name.

^ Yeah, I tried the drifting briefly (i only have a controller) and didn't have much success (doesn't feel natural at all) so have left that mode alone until I get a wheel. I need to check your replay out if its still up - I didn't realize you could do that. Anyone tried the 3 new cars yet? I've only been able to afford the Lotus so far as I decided to start the game all over again out of boredom. I've got some racing to do to get the 1,000,000 cr Citroen GT.

Which online events do you usually race at? I'm usually on any of the Professional Physics events, with Suzuka being my preferred venue.
The Beginner events have a lot of dirty racers and is not fun at all. The bozos start to thin out as difficulty increases.

I started the game completely over (after playing a few various other racing games its good to be back) and have tried some of the new cars. The Lotus Evora isn't bad though I thought I would be a little faster. The Ferrari California is a boat (a fast boat) that I guess doesn't handle too bad but I had to turn a little traction control on to keep from drifting (when I didn't want to - but if you want to drift, this car is hilarious) on high speed corners in profess mode. It also seems like I'm driving something like a '59 Caddy drop-top when looking back in the interior view - the top of the back seat is so high you can't see anything behind you, I think I'll stick w/ the 599. Don't have enough money for the Citroen GT yet...
It may be my imagination but it seems like the last update to the physics made the steering quite a bit more sensitive anyways I still want a wheel. Once I get a few more of my favorite cars I'll be online in the Professional Physics events mainly on the weekends.

but yah, once you get use to the controller, it starts to feel very natural.
as for the 3 cars, i just bought the ferrari, fun car to drift. one thing i just hate is since i use cockpit view being on LHD side, my view at looking at the right side of car is hard to see vs right side
