They had motor city online a few years ago. But the game tanked. It was fun though. You could race track or drag and really build your car with tons of mods. The physics was what you would expect from a good quality driver simulation game.

 

0-60, 5.9 For Rx-8. Can We Beat 350 Z?

ive only seen the 5.9 0-60 time listed in one mag.......i think it was either road & track or motortrend. that was with a 8k clutch drop. in SCC latest issue they rated the rx-8 @ something like a 7.0 0-60 time. maybe i misread but it was pretty horrible.

350z is faster in a straight line and over @ the 350z forums it seems like thats all that matters in the world.

 

Sports cars = race tracks. 350Z removed ......... =)

The closest I got was 6.4 sec with cz stage 1 at 3000 RPM launch. I am not sure about 5.9.

3000 RPM??? There's nothing that low so no wonder you can't break 6 secs.

rx8 came in #1 in this head to head (
but if u goto the last page, 350z is significantly faster. (0-60 in 5.3 sec, 1/4 mile in 13.77s)
if you goto most major publications such as R&T, C&D, Automobile mag, autoweek etc, you will see that 350z is consistently much faster than the rx8.

being faster dosnt mean its the better car... as Motor trend awarded 1st place to ur beloved RX8 over the 350z and s2k even though its the slowest of the three. Its pretty funny some of you rx8 owners thinks rx8 is comparable to 350z in performance. Its disgusting some of you are bashing the 350z with so much effort.. It seems to me that you are not very happy with your purchase of rx8 (if you even own one) and wants to justify your purchase badly by bashing other cars that are comparable to the rx8. Those haters sound very bitter to me.
Its cool to point out flaws or areas you dont like on a car, lets face it rx8 is has got plenty of issues it self. But blindly bashing the 350z and claiming things thats not true is just immature and pointless. Unfortunately theres plenty of people like you on my 350z forum too.. who thinks their 350z is the $hit and every other cars in its class is garbage. (Theres plenty of 350z vs s2k vs rx8 discussion on our board too.)

Being fast is important for a performance oriented car.. but its not everything..., thats why Motor Trend choose the RX8 over the Z and S2k for its relatively more civilized ride, better suspension, more practicality, better handling and etc...
As for the majority of RX8 owners who acknowledge that 350z is a faster car, and understand that each car has its +'s and -'s compared to each other. I applude you guys, because you guys are the ones that sounds like you are truly happy with your purchase and enjoy every moment of owning your RX8. Im glad this board has a lot of mature individuals that loves their own cars and respect other cars for what they are. And fortunetly, theres a lot of 350z owners on our board that has tons of respect the rx8 for what it is.

to get an idea of where 350z place in terms of acceleration this is a list of the fastest production cars ever sold in the US. I was sort of suprised when I first saw that the Ferrari Enzo is only #3 on the list :p

-as you can see 350z really isnt even that fast :p, at least not when going up against the likes of other factory stock cars in the price range like Evo and Sti.

-2005 6mt G35 coupe will have 295hp and 19 inch wheels(www.nissannews.com), its very likely 350z will also recieve a boost in hp.

-APS is coming out with a new twin turbo kit priced about $6k in sept, its still under going testing. Their test car is currently gettign 427.1whp. heres some fun clips of the API twin turbo system in action. quarter mile in 11.97 sec

p.s. Im a rotary fan, I really enjoyed driving the Rx8 at mazda's rev it up at FedEx field. Its a more fun car to drive than the 350Z for sure. I didnt like how the low end torque was abismal even compared to the v6 mazda 6 which i also testdrove, but it was a lot of fun reving the engine and tossing the car around. Id say the handling for the rx8 is on par with the s2k and Evo, which are 2 of the best handling cars Ive ever been in.

 

I was tooling around in www.my350z.com to learn more about the G35C (nothing yet ), and their 350Z vs. RX-8 thread is nowhere near as long as ours. I think we are a little bit too pretentious about comparing the RX-8 and the 350Z. Neither car is good nor bad .

 

we have some ******** on there too though that seems hellbent on bashing the rx8 and s2k and making up bad stuff about other cars. dig deeper and ull find some really long ones.. lols. :p and thats enough of this thread for me, this topic have been beaten to death on all 3 boards for each car
