The 2006 Z06 will be 89K (spoke to a salesman about it and that price is confirmed).... even the regular vette is pretty damn good at 67 grand

Didn't you get on my case about "proclaiming" facts...or speaking as if it's a fact?

Anyway, for the price and overall performance...in my opinion, the Z06 Vette is the best in the world. Nothing can touch it for it's price....

If you start talking about the best ever sports car or if price is not in the picture, then we can debate but for the price in my opinion nothing can touch the Vette.

Also...even if you say there are better sports cars out there, if they cost double or more in price...heck yeah they BETTER BE BETTER, or else those buying them are chumps...or it's their taste (let's not get too critical here...lol)

To make it fair, let's give every company 100K and tell them to build the best sports car. Like that...we can truly compare...

well okay, you didn't mention price before really. Just that the vette is the best in the world and for it's price nothing can touch it. hmm, maybe you did mention price then. DANG

Like i said, for a new car @ 70K, it's the best. There are still used cars for 70K I would rather have. Maybe not as fast, but in my mind, better sports cars.

Your kidding right? LOL, I love the RX7 but a Vette...it AINT, lol

Now, if Mazda made a 3-rotor 70K 450HP RX-what ever...then we could bring this up again.

Nope... 89Gs saw it on his product configurator application... and they were trying to pressure me big time.... "Oh its, going to be in limited stock and they might only get two of them...and if you want one you would have to act now"...... which is true to a degree I suppose... but they were quite aggressive lol

Am I missing something? Starting price is 65,800. The standard Corvette starts at 44,600. Tod, not trying to insult you, but methinks you're off your rocker.

I thought for a second he was talking about CAD, but BlueEyes asked him and he said no. I even double checked, 89k CAD = 75,541 USD. I will await an explanation I guess.

This comments gets me!!

In Europe we talk about style and how fast a car accelerates. In America they talk about how many horse boxes their trucks can pull and how much torque the engine produces.

Of course there are exceptions, but a great deal of America thinks that way, you can tell just by watching truck commercials. While many of us enthusiasts don't think that way, there are quite a few people, many more than there are enthusiasts, that think along those lines.

Because trucks are utilitarian.

Like the French and their "high culture," trucks are rooted in America's history. Frontier lands, farming... later industry and construction. There are still a number of people who do "blue collar" jobs that require trucks. There are also a number of people who use their trucks to pull their boats or trailers. There is an image of the truck being American.

Trucks don't suit my style, but ones like the F-150 Lightening or GMC Cyclone aren't bad... better if they came in stick. You can't deny the convenience of having one when you need to pickup furniture, a washer/dryer, take your lawn mower to the shop or any one of a number of other things.

I wouldn't say that, yes I know we buy trucks like crazy...it's more of a culture thing and basic needs than anything else. My dad does alot of work around the house and he needs a truck, a sports car or sadan would be just stupid for carrying stuff in.

My issue with him is that he makes a HUGE assumption about all American's and arrogantly dismisses our sports cars. Last time I checked the Cobra, Shelby GT, Vette's and Viper all kicked the hell out of those snooty cars in competition.

All their history and fancy names...was for nothing, so don’t dismiss our sports cars.

But, it's a matter of taste...that's his taste, I don't care for it...but honestly who cares. He does not pay my monthly bills nor will he care that I think he sounded like a punk in that article.

I didn't take his comment as literally as you two did. Americans in general, are more impressed with brute force than finesse in their vehicles.

What ever get's the job done, lol...this is the land of football...lol

I understand, we are more big car...big engine, and dragsters...but his statement was too general and snooty in my opinion. It completely disrespected the Vette and it's history.

The Vette is a true sports car now even though it hasn't always been. How can anyone dispute the numbers? (and i'm not talking solely 0-60)

Americans are brute force in everything we do!
