that guy cracks me up sometimes.

"And on a challenging road about as much fun as a wasabi enema."
I'm using that one!

basically, all he said was that the mustang is unsophisticated, which it is. And in europe there are better cars, which there are. didn't say much about the solstice though, in another review i guess.

He cracks me up too!, I don't know about calling RX-8 owners a poof (Gay) is a good one. He does go on a bit though in his Times on-line write ups.

Jeremy Clarkson admitted on a Michael Parkinson interview about a year ago that he is just a journalist and knows almost nothing about motor cars.... tell us something we don't know.
I think he said, "I have trouble finding the dip stick".

Trouble is many think what he says about cars is gospel.

I do agree about his comments on Americas sports cars in this new century.
Like us Aussie's we produce cars (clones) with lots of grunt and little finesse, but we are getting better.

That's why I like the overall reliability and finish of Japanese cars that now have that European handling.

You get the best of both worlds with fully imported Jap cars.

In Australia and the UK they are consistently voted the most reliable and value for money automobiles.

They must be doing something right.

He has twisted history to fit his notion of how the world works also. Or he is just plain ignorent of how it was here.

What? He just reviews cars, where does he discuss his views on the world?

Haha, he is a funny guy, but I'm surprised that he is a car n00b. He seems like a very knowledgable guy

He may not know a lot about taking cars apart etc, but I think he has a good handle on qualifiying how they drive. One of the best drivers I know couldn't figure out how to open the hood of his BMW to check the oil. I was in shock. But, you really don't need to know how it works to use something efficiently.

That's true, and he seems to be a pretty damned good driver too. I must say though, I liked Tiff Needell better(I think that was his name) but not he does the 5th gear or something like that. It may have even gotten cancelled.

He's an entertaining guy, but as far as ever trusting him on a car review, not a chance. He's hugely biased, deals in extremes, and lacks objectivity.

I could not agree more..

I recall he disliked the new Mazda 3, rated it poorly, when the car was runner up to the European Car of the year (Golf).

Since the introduction of the 3 it has won more World motoring awards in its short life than any other Mazda in the same period.

Very entertaining to watch but thats about it.....

As a reviewer he is overly conclusive and too unstable. When he loves a car its the best car in the world and when he hates a car its the worst car a man could buy in 3 life times...geez.

Hes not rational

My god I just read it

This guy had me in stitches!

"America's Daft Horse" ..."not bad for an OX CART" LMAO.
"the interior has teh panache of an Afgan's cave"?? LMAO... it was funny but c'mon its not that bad.

But again back to what I said earlier... this guy isnt rational: The Mustang is a MUSCLE CAR, why the hell would he test it on a twisty track and use that as a good and fair benchmark of evaluation? Test it on a track, yes.. but bear in mind what type of car it is.

It's an 'opinion piece' - if people want obectivity, watch FoxNews - arguably 'Consumer Reports'. If people want to know how a particular guy feels about a particular car, read 'car reviews'...

"Objectivity" and "FoxNews" in one sentence is an oxymoron.

It is so wrong that a guy with a Steve McQueen avatar would have negativity towards a Ford Mustang.

if you lived in europe and had access to all the badass little cars they get, you would have negativity towards the mustang too.
