Nah Caddilac isn't crap...he just got a bad apple. But what a jackhole for driving a car with a failing engine. Like driving the car more is going to help the engine out.

White smoke , i would assume a blown head gasket, but the fact that he kept driving is making me assume its something other than that. And his Caddy can't be that bad of car, it got him home right?.... i could name a few cars that would of left him stranded.

Caddilac just like any other manufacture should replace his motor, he has video proof to back his complaint and to justify why they should replace his motor.

A guy at my job has a CTS-V with 34k miles on it, runs smooth like a DTS Caddy and pulls like a Vette with 4 doors. No problems yet....

I'd rather have a CTS-V any day over an RX8. Can't afford one but if I had to pick out of the 2 it would be easy.

If I were alone and that far away from home and my car had a history of doing that too, as long as it still ran I'd drive it too. His car had been in for service for the same thing a couple of times already and obviously they never fixed it. You think he's at fault for driving it? It's not like he was at home and going to take it to the store and back knowing it's not running right. He was over a hundred miles away from home trying to get back. That was his only transportation available. It ran didn't it? It was also on a weekend at the end of the day. You try to get help then!

I know people with Cadillacs that have never had any issues. Yes this one was a lemon. It is proof that Cadillac has not stepped up to the plate to take car of their issues though. That's his intention with this. It's proof that the service center has not lived up to their part of the deal. It's also proof that he didn't cause it. He's got pretty good evidence which should lead to it getting taken care or properly. He even admitted that he liked the car and even stated he'd be happy with a new one that didn't have issues.

Many could say the same thing regarding Mazda and their 8s.

Regardless, this is one CTS with issues. Anyone who has repeated major issues with their car that aren't rectified is going to have a bad opinion regarding that marque. This thread was just a excuse to bash American and that I don't agree with.

Yep that could certainly be true for any car. This guy just happens to have it documented on video.

I gotta pee like a 9-dick dog. :-)

Why didn't he just hit the OnStar and tell them to send a truck for it. GM may nail him for further damaging the engine by driving it. Dunno.

Funny... i was thinking the same thing.

After watching the video again, his symptoms in his CTS remind me of when i had a bad MAFS in my '02 Maxima. I had zero power,my car could only reach a top speed of 40 mph with the pedal to the floor, engine was shaking violently, coming to a stop i had to keep the rpms up to keep it from dieing. The only thing i didn't have was the white smoke....

Replaced the MAFS , problems were solved.

Well I watched it.. I laughed and shook my head. The guy obviously didnt wish to post the video but did it as a form of leverage since the internet as of late has been a big PR tool (hell look at our knowledge of the infamous Mulligan-gate video). The guy stated he loved the car and would take a new one 'cause the one he has obviously has problems that they can't or wont fix. I'm really surprised Cadi just didnt take his car and say "sorry for the hassle here is a new car for you. We are taking your car back to our labs to find out what the issue was so others dont suffer like you." sure its a fantasy kinda deal but jesh aleast owe up "Sorry we gave you a odd ball PoS car, here is a new one."
