Finally got rid of those ugly OEM 17's.
These are Monaro VZ's all the way from Australia. I wrapped them in Kumho Ecsta SPT 245/40/18's. I'm really happy with the look. Nice and beefy. Now come the suspension mods.

Nice wheels man... They're not too unlike the stock 18's. Keep the nice silver Monaro center caps. I'm sure you were thinking that. Some people replace them with Pontiac center caps
Hell I might try to get a set of those caps, if they fit!
Any other mods to date tiggerlee? Maybe an exhaust mod next!

Nice rims. Classy and appropriate. I bought some Kumho ECSTA SPT's for my 8 and so far am enjoying them as a daily driver tire. Great price, longevity, ride comfort and noise characteristics.

After looking and looking at wheels I decided to go with the VZ's. They give the car a clean look. and I like the "beefier" looking wheel. And yes, I'm keeping the Monaro center caps on them.
Right now I'm looking at suspension mods. Most likely Pedders. Haven't really thought a whole lot about exhaust,I'm pretty content with the stock system right now. My bro's still pushing the SC route. Who knows maybe this summer.

Some of the guys on the GTO forums gave me **** for buying Kumhos. I have nothing but good things to say about them, had them on the 8. Great tire at a great price.

Tiggerlee, are you still happy with your goat? The reason I ask is nearly every dealer in my town (all non-Pontiac) have at least one used GTO for sale and all of them are 4-6,000 miles old. I'm just wondering why someone would buy this car then dump it so fast.

It's all over the GTO forums as well. Just thought it might be fun to saturate as many car forums as I can. I'm on my way over the to Aveo forums now to see how many I can make feel inadequate.

The more I see the GTO the more it kinda grows on me. The Holden interior really surprised me and the car felt very solid. It was obviously very quick, and the ride was smooth and well-damped. The only negatives were the handling was poor with too much body roll and the driver feedback was non-existent.
A really nice GT car though and it is a shame it didn't sell better for it to stick around. I blame Pontiac's poor marketing for that error.
The Black GTO looks mean as hell. The yellow looks sweet too!

The production line for the VZ range has now ceased here in Adelaide and some 600 jobs will be lost.(Voluntary calls for redundancy)
The production line for the VE Commodore/Pontiac G8 is all new and "state of the art for GMH", that's the reason for the job cuts.
