There really aren't any on lots around here yet but I'm seriously considering test driving one. Now that you have the option of the turbo GTI engine and a 6-speed manual people are saying this thing is actually pretty badass, and it certainly looks a hell of a lot better than the previous generation.

Does look cool. (But not for me, since I like hatchbacks and would get the GTI instead.)

I did test drive the hatchback a couple of years ago and I really did like the feel and performance from that engine...I just don't like the hatchback itself. This new beetle could be a chance for the same performance, but with a different look.

Definitely looks better than the last model. I think the turbo GTI is the only way to go if looking at one.

Yes, while I like 'em, lots of people don't care for the look of hatchbacks, so the new Beetle could be just what you need. Plus you'd have a distinctive "new model" that would have some buzz on the street, which is always fun.

I never liked the previous gen, and would never like to be caught in one. Though the new one, I wouldn't mind driving one around. Great body lines that are taken from the old bug.

I'm looking for something to hold me over until (hopefully) a new rotary car arrives. I was almost set on a Z but with a new rotary maybe 3 or 4 years away I don't think I want to shell out Z money at this point when I'll only keep it for a few years. Don't really care for the Genesis Coupe or any of the american muscle either. Now I'm wishing they made the 4 door mazdaspeed 3 rather than the wagon.

I'd get a GTI instead, but it definitely is much improved over the last generation. After the last one became a "chick car", I think they'll have a hard time getting guys buying it. VW sure is trying hard though.

My ex drove the last version and I hated when she asked me to drive her car. I'm not usually picky about stuff like that, but I think it was a little embarrassing as a car enthusiast. I'd actually say that this new design is more masculine on the masculine side. I'd say this new design does appeal to me a bit... it's not at the top of my list or anything like that, but I definitely wouldn't mind being seen in it. I actually think the side graphics help it out as well.

Typical chick car, as far as I'm concerned. But yes, the previous one was even more so.
I'd get one for my daughter... not really for myself. But it IS a good and nice ride.

The only Beetle that I'd be caught driving is the original Type 1 and its later variants, except the California style. Just me.

I've seen it and i don't like it. Maybe, just test driving it, but not owning it. I like the old school bugs though.

I'm already seeing a lot of complaints on the VW boards about what equipment this car comes with. Apparently there is already a lot of discrepancy between what is in the advertising booklets and what will actually be available...and good luck finding a manual transmission. Also looks like VW may intentionally keep inventories of this car pretty low so good luck getting one in the options you want.

I'd drive it lol. Preferably with a little more body modification and assuming it had some kind of performance upgrades lol.
