The more I look at the new eclipse, the more I like it. Has anyone seen it in person? I have not seen any on the road yet. Only if I had endless funds:-)

 

I've seen it, in all colors. Blue and white look the best IMO. The tail lights look very cool, the front bumper looks as ugly as in pictures. Also the wheel gap is BEYOND HUGE...it's in desperate need of a drop.

ALso, the dealers need to stop being so greedy, because I don't know too many people coughing up $30k+ for an Eclipse...I don't care WHAT it looks like.

I drove beside one the highway for a while. I kinda like parts of the rear. I still like the concept they did, but they lost a lot between it and the production version. They loss the Bad in Badass, now it's, in general, ***....

haha, i htink I was looking at the concept car. Too bad they couldnt keep it looking like that more.

 

I have seen a few on the road, I think they are a far cry from the concept pictured above. They are ALOT bigger than the old 90's eclipses. They need to bring back the turbo and awd options and lose a few hundred pounds off the new car.

 

They aren't anything special...they also have the same problem the 8's do...absolutely no mesh on the lower grill...cept thats also where they mount the auxilary cooler...gonna be alot of upset mitsu owners when they lose a transmission/engine due to a rock on the highway...

 

I saw one in black the other day. It's an improvement over the "current" generation (ANYTHING would be an improvement over that thing), but I still like the previous one better. The new one reminds me a lot of the Mercury Cougar, at least from the back (not a good thing).

 

It's almost as bad as the Aztec... almost.

 

It looks better in the pictures, than in real life.

 

On a side note that has nothing to do with your thread, that custom title is hilarious, and so very true. You never know when you'll need them!

 

There's a Mitsubishi dealership right by my house. I see lots of people looking at them and can't help but REV a bit as I go by. Some stop and smile while others point. I'd like to know if anyone left the dealer to look at the 8 because of me.

Anyway, I see lots of people test driving them. They look far too big in real life. I think Mitsubishi had a homerun on their hands with the concept, but hit a foul ball instead.

Funny that this thread came up. My wife and I were driving in DC the other night and she said what the hell is that. I said the New Eclipse and she replies, "now I know why their in Bankruptcy". I just laughed and said "yes".

 

The Concept is very sweet...production is crap. I still think the Eclipse from 97-99 are so much better looking. That offset hump on the hood is unique...

I was surprised when this was touted as the car that was going to save mitsu. I saw it and was like....uhhhh they're f*cked. It's not the ugliest thing I've ever seen, but it's certainly not appealing to me.

PS I think the concept looks like it's scared

 

I saw one a few weeks back. It peaked my interest because it was new and because it looked strange. I think the proportions are all off, too streached out looking. As far as looks, it's ugly. No 8 that's for sure. I Didn't even bother to look up its specs.

how they can build the evo 9 and then come up wth this is baffling, on the one hand you have a car that screams, and then on the other you have one that screams "useless", "ugly" etc.

 

but they will sell a million of them to teenage girls

 

For some reason it reminds me of a late '80s Mercury Cougar... I don't know why this is, perhaps because it is so f$%^ing big. It no longer looks like a sports car. I don't get it
