but as for the rx8 concerns i agee. but then i look at the proto cars of those series, then i notice the rx8 works in the same fashion. if its able to keep speed with out slowing down on turns, or race traffic, it would do just fine.

Higher revving is a huge part of what a high performance engine is all about. The torque it produces is the available force, and the rpm determines the mechanical leverage you can use when getting the power to the road. High RPM has always been a key for getting the most power from a limited displacement, which you might find in a race car, or a road car that you are trying to keep light.

to some extent i agree with you. but also are cars with no torque (Proto Cars in the Lemans, and Rolex series) cannot live with out the high rpms.

I don't understand why we get so many threads about topics like this; there are different cars because there are different people. If you don't like a car, it's probably because you were not the manufacturers intended target.

I don't post much, but I must say...this is a stupid ******* thread.
I love my high revving rotary to death, but I'd happily trade 1.5k rpms of redline for an extra 150hp, and more importantly, and extra 150lb-ft tq and a snail. More importantly, I don't agree with shitting on American cars for the sport of it. I just appreciate different cars for what they are.
