My Protege had a huge penchant for understeering, but the steering was weighted pretty well. My girlfriend's 3 is definitely better dynamically but feels much bigger.

Well you can always take a quick trip to europe when it goes on sale and ship it back here to US.... and register as a Mazda 3............. :P I've seen a couple of RHD skylines and silvias driving around in my town...

This is a European news source so they are talking the European focus, which is a generation ahead of the U.S. version and a better car.
We'll never see that chassis here. this new Mazda3 as well as the next Focus, both European and U.S. , will be on the NEXT generation chassis.
This car will be hot hot hot. I'd like to see that T5 in a Mazdaspeed3 but Ill put my money on a different engine.
