Yeah, about what I expected, since you can get superior aero from a sedan than you can from an SUV
Why? Take a look at the weight of the CX-5. 3,200lbs. Hard to believe a sedan can get lower than an SUV?
Mazda is getting serious about this weight thing.

Just remember this car is BIG!,well over 4 metres long, almost 5...or almost as long as a CX-9.
Or to give my US mates an idea...it is not much smaller than the Aussie made Pontiac G8, or Holden Commodore...it is less than 3 inches in either direction.
4903 mm G8 Long...4865 mm for new 6
1899 mm G8 Wide...1840 mm for new 6
1471 mm G8 High...1450 mm for new 6

4865 mm 2014...4920 mm 2013 US LENGTH
1840 mm 2014...1839 mm 2013 US WIDTH
1450 mm 2014...1470 mm 2013 US HEIGHT
It is a little smaller than the old US in length and height, while width is about the same.

Note" to the MNAO "Marketing Guys"...'Team Mazda'.
Do this as your promotional launch, not some cheap ***, cheap gimmick (like Lorax and 6 Million Dollar CX-5 BS)..you can add class without trashing the brand, like you usually do.
THE ART OF EXHILARATION..now, there is a start.

like I said, they just need to fired all of them and hired me instead. I am sure I know who and how to market Mazda.

Mazda 6 COUPE being considered!!
BTW: Mazda are 'considering' and AWD Turbo Version of MPS (Mazdaspeed).
Speaking at the Moscow Motor Show, chief designer Akira Tamatani confirmed a coupe is under consideration. He told Autocar, "There is no decision, but I would love to make one." Tamatani added, "The first job is to make the saloon and estate, but from this position a coupe is not so far away."
Program manager Hiroshi Kajiyama also revealed the company is evaluating an all-wheel drive system. He told the magazine, "There are no set plans, but we are studying the possibility of introducing all-wheel drive - it would be a good weapon with which to establish the brand."
In another interview, Kajiyama said a high-performance Mazda6 is also being considered. He declined to go into specifics, but indicated the model could be lighter than the standard car.

nice car...note the steering wheel with palette (correct in english?) for gear-changing
this car seems very driver-oriented for a midsize sedan.
BTW i'm waiting for the wagon

Not that you would be wrong, just that I don't think you wouldn't really be the right choice for marketing a company like Mazda.
I think the right direction would be to create a series of commercials, each one targeting a specific customer segment that buys these large family cars, and state the reason why this car beats all of its competitors in that one point.
You have one commercial that says we beat the Camry, Malibu, Accord, and Altima for fuel economy in one commercial. You can drive from Denver to Las Vegas in one tank.
Then the next commercial says that the car is more comfortable for your commute than the Camry, Accord, Altima, Sonata, and Malibu, and show it soaking up both pothole ridden streets, and smooth open highway roads with a major city in the coming distance.
The next commercial would be about handling. It beats the Accord, Altima, Sonata, Camry, Malibu not only while going grocery shopping, but while tearing up the mountains, and if life leads you onto a roadcourse race track. Cue footage of it tearing up Laguna Seca, Miller Raceway, HPR, NHIS, and Road Atlanta, with a full load of groceries in the trunk.
And then, if you really want to go over the top, say that anyone who buys the 6 between release date and December 31st gets free warranty and maintenance plan upgrades, to then have the best in class warranty, beating Hyundai's warranty, for up to 120k powertrain, and 60k bumper to bumper. Free oil changes for 50k.
That would be the way to properly market the new 6, but that's just my opinion.
Better than calling prospective customers idiots if they buy a Camry, anyway.

Wow the car actually likes quite nice (interior and exterior) and I've never been a fan of mazda's interiors... maybe this will be a pleasant surprise. Also the curb weight coming in at a bit over 3000 lbs for a car that's the size of a 5 series makes the 8 seem like a boat in comparison!
