Slightly Off-Topic:
In A1GP, Jonathan Summerton qualified Third in todays Mexico City Sprint Race and is starting in 7th place for the Feature Race. It seems he likes this track.
Who knows if we, in the U.S., will see this televised. You can hear it live at a1gp.com.

What a race. I guess TC makes a difference eh?

Also, I don't want to spoil things too much but I can see the tin-foil hat crowd cook up some crazy theories regarding the standardized ECU after this race.....

Too bad for Kovalainen...to think that he accidently hit the pit speed limiter, what a way to spoil a good pass.

That is what they "say" happened.

Oh boy, time for that tinfoil. Maybe MES just accidentally hit the "Take out the Ferrari" button one too many times and Heiki got the jolt.

Seem that the Toro Rosso team is up for sale, despite previous denying this.

The question is, why would anyone want to buy. With minimal facilities to design F1 cars, it would seem that it might not be worth an asking price. And drivers contracts would be too short term to consider.

Decent race... dominant performance by Hamilton.

Serioulsy disappointing performances turned in by:
Piquet (like GP2 - when he's "on"=golden but when he's not=poo! )
Kimi (though more Ferrari's fault than his)
Massa (the first turn spin was rediculous)
Coulthard (looking more and more past the sell by date)

...Spare a thought for Seb Bourdais who imo put in a drive nearly as good as Hamilton's. He had Alonso, and Kovalainen handled using an alternative stratgey. TR team said he was good to go to the end on fuel and then kaaablammo! It'll be interesting to see what he can do at Monaco, Valencia, and Monza. I wouldn't be surprised to see him make the podium at one of those.

Malaysia has some tricky complexes and plenty of room to pass. It should be a good one.

I disagree, you'll never see a TR on the podium.

It does suck that Ferrari now has to use an ECU provided by their ach enemy. It's still no excuse for their performance especially for a team known for their impecable reliability.

It was pretty cool to see someone other than Ferrari or McLaren on the podium. Great drive by Heike and Nico. It was also pretty cool to see Hamilton and Rossberg getting to share the excitement being on the podium together after driving and competing as friends in GP2.

I was really bummed out about Ferrari. I just hope this isn't indicative of the rest of the season for Ferrari and the rest of the field as well. I think it was a HUGE mistake to take away TC and assisted engine braking. It's obviously a safety issue at this point. Clearly the guys that have relied on the system for so many years are at a disadvantage now under pressure because they are instinctively relying on the system that isn't there anymore and it's tough to change your instincts.

Please explain how allowing a racer to use his instincts and be able to make decisions on his own is a safety issue.

what an amazing race. I am not really into F1, but after this race i think i will keep watching. For me personally, the races are more fun to watch without TC. Its good to see BMW up there with the ferraris and mclarens, as well as honda doing better than last year too.

Yeah, last year Honda's wet dream was a championship point, and they would have scored one in Oz! (with the benefit of half the cars crashing or breaking)

Based on what I read so far, the Honda car was a POS last year, and looks like a POS too.

What do you fans think of Ferrari this year, its hard to believe all of their engines blew up. Also their CEO just resigned. I don't want to see McLaren win all the races.

I believe heads are rolling in Maranello. Ferrari had the ECU as long as everybody else...so I think that's just sour grapes on their part. And not to mention, didn't they have a fuel pick up problem last year?? Out of everyone, I was most impressed with BMW...those guys have got a hell of a car and I'm sure they have the potential to fight with Ferrari and McLaren. I'm still a little bitter about how they did JV, but Kubica was hauling ****!!! This is going to be one hell of a season!! And as much as I hate to say it, I would have loved to see Schumacher in Filipi's place....you know, just to see how he would have handled it.

Ya I know where your comming from but I picked three races where attrition is likely to be high. In fact add Montreal to that list. Sebas is going to come through

The one possibility of an STR being on the podium is if there are NO other cars still on the track.

Watching my DVR now. What's up with Hamilton having problems locking up his front "passenger" side wheel? Somethings up with his setup.

The front wheel cover isn't locked in place. This is affecting the brake cooling on that side.

I saw the botched pitstop where they had trouble getting the cover on and off. that was a huge amount of brake dust! wow.

As a Felipe Massa fan for the past 3 years, I feel perfectly qualified and justified in saying he sucks as an F1 driver and Ferrari should get rid of him as soon as possible.

It simply took the lack of drivers aids to bring his weaknesses to the fore.
