I wouldn't fault them too much. You have some of the brightest men in the world sitting around thinking of ways to work the rules to their advantage.

MAX Mosley, one of the most powerful men in world sport, was under pressure to resign as boss of Formula One's governing body last night after he was exposed enjoying a ****-style orgy with five prostitutes.

Jewish groups condemned the behaviour of Mosley, 67, whose father, Sir Oswald, was the leader of the British Union of Fascists and a friend of Adolf Hitler.

Mr Mosley was caught on video by the News of the World with five women in an underground “torture chamber” in Chelsea, where he spent several hours allegedly indulging in sado-masochistic sex.

The Oxford-educated former barrister, who is president of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), reenacted a concentration camp scene in which he played the role of both guard and inmate.

Speaking in German and brandishing a leather whip, he beat the women after allowing himself to be subjected to a humiliating inspection for lice and an interrogation in chains.

Mr Mosley, a close confidant of Bernie Ecclestone, who holds the commercial rights to Formula One, paid £2,500 cash for the sex services, the Sunday newspaper claimed.

His antics stunned Jewish leaders and motorsport insiders. “This is sick and depraved,” Karen Pollock, chief executive of the Holocaust Educational Trust, said. “For anyone to be in such a position of influence and power beggars belief. I am absolutely appalled.”

Stephen Smith, director of the Holocaust Centre, said: “As Mr Mosley has condemned the racism in motor sport he should live up to the standards he sets. This is an insult to millions of victims, survivors and their families. He should apologise. He should resign from the sport.”

Sir Stirling Moss, the former world champion racing driver whose father was Jewish, said: “I don’t see how he can continue. I hope he can, frankly, because I think he’s very good at what he does. I suppose what goes on behind closed doors is his business but when a thing comes out like this . . . it’s an absolute shocker.”

Mr Mosley, whose two years in Germany as a young teenager gave him fluency in the language, has helped to turn Formula One into a multi-billion-pound business since he became FIA president in 1993. The FIA is a nonprofit association that represents the interests of motoring organisations and car users worldwide.

Mr Ecclestone said that he was shocked by the allegations but did not expect Mr Mosley’s position to be affected. “I’ve known him an awful long time. If somebody had told me this without the evidence I would have found it difficult to believe,” he said.

“Assuming it’s all true, what people do privately is up to them. I don’t honestly believe (it) affects the sport in any way. Knowing Max it might be all a bit of a joke. You know, it’s one of those things where he’s sort of taking the p***, rather than anything against Jewish people.”

Mr Mosley, who lives in Monaco, is understood to be pursuing legal action against the News of The World for breach of privacy. His spokesman said: “This is a matter between Mr Mosley and the newspaper in question and the FIA has no comment.”

Martin Brundle, the driver-turned-pundit who was recently the subject of a libel action brought by Mr Mosley, said: “It’s not appropriate behaviour for the head of any global body such as the FIA.”

Mr Mosley, who once harboured ambitions to be a parliamentary candidate for the Conservative Party, is known for being eccentric and outspoken. Nicknamed “Mad Max” by some in motorsport, he once said he didn’t mind flak because he came from a family used to getting it all the time.

Hitler was present at the wedding of his father, Oswald, and mother, Diana, which took place in Joseph Goebbels’s drawing room. They were interred in Holloway and Brixton prisons for their Fascist connections.

Most recently, Mr Mosley stood up against racism in Formula One by giving warning of immediate sanctions if there was a repeat of the abuse against Lewis Hamilton, the only black driver on the circuit, in Barcelona during testing this season.

Yea, that was all out in the European press yesterday.

 

All the manufactures are rounding on him, and he's talking about suing the newspaper that broke the story. He's not contesting the truth of it, he just has issues on how its been reported.

I still do not agree with the invasion of someones privacy, but when you are the imressario of a billion dollar a year franchise, common sense should dictate(you would think) that you reign yourself in, especially when you know the world is watching.

 

Well, Max has proven in recent years that he is far from the genius that he thinks he is.

 

The BMW pole was a fluke. Kubica was running 3-4 laps less fuel than everyone else on the first stint. That being said, I like what i'm seeing from them.

I think Massa's win was due to team orders. Kimi was brought in to pit 5 laps before he needed to on the second stint. Ferrari knew Kimi would be leading the championship whether he finished 1st or 2nd due to Mclarens' horrible day, so they chose to give a boost to the brats confidence.

It is impossible to cheer for Massa because just when you think he's finally seen the light, he'll do pretty much what he did the first 2 races of this season, not to mention his epic screwups last year.

 

Massa is fast, but he is definitely a number 2 driver. I don't think I've ever seen him pass a car (that was of comparable pace) that he wasn't lapping. Passing Kubica at the start doesn't count. A fast driver but not a race driver.

 

Yep, when people talk about him winning a WDC, I just nod and laugh, that won't ever happen unless he can calm down quite a bit and get more reliable. How ofter do you see Kimi throw away races?

 

He has got to lead in a race to have a chance of winning.

My wife is from Brazil, and she just got back from visiting there. She told me today that hardly anyone in Brazil likes him as a driver, or cheers for him.

 

I can think of 6 other drivers not named Hamilton or Alonso that I would rather see in a Ferrari instead of Massa.

I think the fact that we're even having this discussion after he won a race shows the general lack of confidence in his abilities many feel.

 

I have yet to watch the race, but I got it on computer, can't wait to see the Hamilton crash.

For some reason I don't really like him, he is a good driver, he knows it, but he talks too much. Especially after the australian race, saying how he could go even faster after setting pole (less fuel than ferrari) and winning the race. That was the first complete F1 race i watched, and thats my impression of him.

As a F1 noob, I have no preference on the constructor/engine supplier. I like to see Kimi wins tho, do the talking on the track.

My opinion on Hamilton is that he is talented (as all F1 drivers are), but was extremely overhyped last year due to the fact he is british, driving for a british team. Last year he was in one of the two fastest rides, but in the end his rookie side showed and he lost a championship that was his to lose.

Was anyone singing the praises of Heiki Kovaleinen last year? Ask yourself why he looks so good now. Is it because he suddenly learned how to drive, or is it a much better car?

Now think of what Alonso has been doing w/ the Renault. Did he forget how to drive (obviously not if you've watched the first 3 races), or is he in a car that shouldn't have scored a single point so far despite his performance.

 

Quite the contrary. Kimi tried to attack before the second pit stop to "overtake in the pit". However when Massa realized Kimi was crawling up from behind he was suddenly driving faster. I dont call that team orders when the driver ahead is outpacing driver behind.

Also Massa admits he really likes this track. Im not saying Massa is a faster driver than Kimi, not at all. But it might very well be the case that Massa is faster on Bahrain.

Even if you say its team order during the race, how do you explain that Massa was dominating the qualifying except for Q3?

 

Honestly, I expected Massa to win this race. He has been fast on that track ever since he joined Ferrari. Kimi even stated that he had screwed up with set-up for the weekend, so I expected Massa to be faster. There's still a handful of other drivers that deserve that seat more than him though.

 

If it was indeed a team order, it is to prevent the same thing from happening from Malaysia, the two were battling, then Massa just lost it.
