I was able to sway my parents into buying a 2005 Rx-8 last August, but when the time came for me to get my new car, I decided upon something else. Being single with just a girlfriend, and no signs of marriage and a family for a few years down the road, I could easily live with a 2 seater. And besides, if I ever wanted to drive the Rx-8, I can always swap with my parents for a week or so. So anyways, I know some of you were saying how bland the styling is and how heavy the car is, but I think it looks very nice and it performs pretty darn good too. I really like the little changes they made for the 06 model. The only downside is, I have to wait a few months (1-3) for the car to get here. I decided on getting a 2006 Daytona Blue Enthusiest. I LOVE this color!! Once it comes in, I'll be sure to get some pics of it along side of my parents Winning Blue Rx-8. Here are some pics I took of the color in a different trim (base): (sorry for the blurry images, it was COLD that night)

DUDE NOT THAT I DONT LIKE THE Z BUT PLEASE IF YOUR GONNA PRAISE A CAR (350) IS NOT A GOOD CAR TO TALK ABOUT. YOUR STARTING TO REMIND ME OF DIKE-WRX. I MEAN IM HAPPY FOR YOU AND EVERYTHING BUT IMO THE Z IS VERY AVERAGE. I SEE ATLEAST 5-6 EVERY DAY ALMOST AS COMMON AS A MUSTANG

this is the general automotive section where people talk about non-rx8 cars... you seem like the one that has a problem with it. you can easily stay out of the thread? not to mention attack Ike

IMO, that is one bad azz car. **** all those comments about the car 'being common' the fact is Mazda and Nissan, to name a couple, are mass produced cars. We own RX8's, not Bentleys. I almost bought one, but we already had a Miata, so we decided to get the RX8 instead. I needed the extra seats and the room.

More random facts:
1) It has a 20 gallon fuel tank, which I found to be pretty big for a sports car.
2) nolarx8 likes his boyfreind to wear leather chaps when he rides.

My 81'Z has a 21.5 gallon tank. I don't know why they made them so big.

Yeah, I defintly love the little changes they made for 06. I cant wait for it to get here so I can see what the new bi-xenons are like. And yes, I did get the 6MT, so I have the 300 hp rev-up engine.

Playdoh43, what year do you have?

The 350Z is a fine looking and performing car, my only grip is with it's butt. It's like they got back there and didn't know what to do. I've seen some small tails that make the butt look alot better so it's fixable.

If I didn't need my back seats I would have at least test driven a 350Z.

Congrats and enjoy!

Thanks! I agree about the "big butt" thing, but only with the convertible. I think the coupe has very nice lines. Yeah, I really had to weigh the fact that I'm not going to have a backseat. But, I only use the car driving to work every day, getting groceries, and for going out with the gf on the weekends. If I need something for bigger items or for hauling around more people, we can use her car. The car will be paid off by the time I plan on having kids, so I can get something else down the road if the need arises. And after driving an Rx-8 with the sunroof, the Z feels a little less claustrophobic even though it has less interior space, especially regarding headroom. I love both cars, and I'm glad that they each made it into my family. I get the best of both worlds

Someone please photoshop a skyline coupe's rear onto the 350Z, I always wonder how it looks. The Z is nice but it could use a nicer buttocks.

i test drove the Z before deciding to order the 8. i had a black 6 speed track model lined up but decided against it. gotta love factory brembos but i the moment i turned the key to start the Z i missed the unique sound of a rotary starting up. they are great cars but they just arent "for me". the 8 is unique and thats how i like to be, i dont like to blend in and most 8 owners agree with that feeling. thats something the Z cant give.

and while its faster, its just not as tossable like the 8s feel. it just isnt as fun, but they are great sounding cars. u gotta love the signature 350z exhaust note. every car friend of mine knows when a Z is ripping down the street! its definately a car that demands respect from other enthusiasts! much respect bro, have fun with it!

congrats bro! just dont crash it!!!!!!!

Hi, welcome to the "General Automotive" section of the forum. It's a place where you can "Discuss all things automotive here other than the RX-8". If you only want to talk about the Rx-8, stay out of the General Automotive section. K, thanks.

This is general automotive, if you don't like talking about and seeing other cars leave.
